This month’s package arrived well-packed with pieces of paper providing extra support during transport. Once I removed them, I was greeted by a delightful collection of illustrated children’s books. Both of my kids were so excited to see what was inside!

Along with the books, this month’s box arrived with an activity booklet.

This activity is perfect for my son! The only things he loves more than “coloring jobs and number games” are mazes. I love that each month brings new activities for my son to complete. He cannot get enough of them!

In addition to the activity sheet, the package contained four picture books: “I Can Do It Myself” by Valorie Fisher, “Badger’s Fancy Meal” by Keiko Kasza, “Feet Go to Sleep” by Barbara Bottner and “Soap, Soap, Soap, Jabón, Jabón, Jabón” by Elizabeth O. Dulemba.

My daughter thought that “I Can Do It Myself” by Valorie Fisher  ($16.20) was great. The book contained a good mix of new and familiar for her. Each new page or two contains different educational topics such as shapes, colors, writing letters, etc.

“Badger’s Fancy Meal” by Keiko Kasza ($6.99) was my son’s favorite book this month. In it, Badger’s desire for more and better leaves him worse off than he started. The twist as to why was ironic, though, and had my son laughing for a long while.

Even though “Badger’s Fancy Meal” was my son’s favorite book this month, he still enjoyed “Feet Go To Sleep” by Barbara Bottner ($14.06) as well. He thought the notion of telling different parts of your body to go to sleep was pretty funny. I told him I’d be happy doing this with him some night when he has trouble sleeping. He was excited at the possibility.

“Soap, Soap, Soap, Jabón, Jabón, Jabón” by Elizabeth O. Dulemba ($16.95) is a cute story of a boy who has trouble remembering what he’s supposed to do. I thought it was super relatable, and I liked that it exposed my kids to some cultural differences (the main character goes to the grocery store by himself and knows the grocer by name, for instance). I couldn’t help but wish that the entire story were written in either English or Spanish or both. The interspersing of the occasional Spanish word in English text isn’t going to help kids learn Spanish and may confuse kids who are currently learning the language.

My kids love this subscription! Whenever the box arrives, my kids always gather around to see what goodies are inside. I’m thrilled that this subscription brings so much joy and quality family time to our home each month.

I really enjoyed this month’s Read to Me Case from BookCase.Club! All four of these books were new to us, and we will happily read them again and again. These books were all engaging and included great, age appropriate messages and themes. The value is unbelievable too–over $50 worth of books for $14.99! And for each new subscription, they donate a book to Books for Keeps in the Classic City, Athens, GA! This subscription is a real win for us. We can’t wait to see what they send next month!
