Treatsie is an artisan sweets sampler box. Each box includes amazing gourmet sweets from 3 – 4 small, independent confectioners, which change every month. Items you may receive include candies, chocolates, cookies, and other sugary delights!

Time To Turnover a New Leaf!

The information card gives brief details on each item. This box shipped really late – I received it only a few days ago. When writing this post I got notification that the next had already shipped (or perhaps it was this one).

Our customer service and fulfillment were and are affected as we lost core team members unexpectedly. While transferring those duties, there was a delay in production of a September box item. We chose to wait for the item to ship a complete assortment instead of splitting the box into two shipments. We recognize these are not excuses for the silence you were given. All hands are on deck to fulfill orders. We now have a team member actively responding to customer service tickets, emails, and Facebook as quickly as possible.

Treatsie sent out an extremely apologetic email. I’m happy to report that this is one of the best boxes I’ve received yet from them, so I’m not really broken up about it!

Everything in my September Treatsie Box!

Treatsie Almond Toffee – The back of the pack says Milk Chocolate Almond Butter Crunch, and that’s more accurate! The inside is a thick slab of almond toffee lightly enrobed with milk chocolate and studded with nuts. It’s quite sweet, but tasty – it was like the toffee form of an ice cream sundae!

Treat Bake Shop Candied Pecans ($6) Just pecans, sugar, and salt. My first bite when I opened the bag my tongue said they were a bit too caramelized (not burnt! even though they are dark they are expertly roasted) for me, but now my taste buds say otherwise.

The pecans are great big halves and really nicely seasoned (FYI – the wholeness of the pecans makes them pricier!). I wish Treatsie had carried the Halloween spiced version in their shop (the maker has a $10 flat rate shipping, which makes a subscription like this more valuable than it seems) – they sound good!treatsie-september-2016-5

Cuit Caramel Apple Whoopie Pie

Cuit Raspberry Crumbler

And 2 items from “Cuit.” The best by day is October 11, which was a few short days after I received my box. Obviously it wasn’t ideal, but I give credit to Treatsie for the items in this package at least – they were a cut above!

This was a bit dry, but I think it might be the age of the goodie. I can’t find anything about this bakery online, and the label says Treatsie – perhaps it’s part of their effort to branch out with house-made goodies? The bread is apple flavored (artificial, which is a fault), and the inside is salted caramel cream. I’m going to be honest, I had part of this but my baby looked at it with big round eyes, grabbed it, and toddled off. He & dad shared the rest.

This was so delicious. Brown sugar cookie base + raspberry jam + thick crumble = deliciousness. This was perfectly textured and never dry – I would love to try this one in all sorts of flavors!

Despite the shipping shortcoming and the short eat-by-date on two of the items I thought this month was one of the most successful in quite some time! In addition to the great flavors, everything seemed seasonally fall, which was a plus for me.

Without a good deal on this box you are effectively paying $5 per treat, so we do recommend subscribing for a longer term for the best (yummy) value!

I would advise against getting this subscription box. I have reached out to the via email 4 times and telephone 3 times with no response . I ordered the 3 month gift box and it was very underwhelming. They got a small package of gross hard candy and two of the same lolly pops. No gift subscription card or itemized card came in the box. Looks like they just slapped it together.

You were lucky to actual get a box. Mine hasn’t even been processed yet. I got 1 of the items I added to my box. Customer service has been terrible.
If you are thinking about getting this box DON’T! They are way behind on shipping and have lots of excuses but no real answers to emails.

I haven’t eaten yet but all of those have my stomach snarling! Very interesting subscription.
