October’s box had the theme “Autumn’s A-List” with must-haves for your fall beauty routine. (This is basically the same as last month.) The card reminds you that you can find the full-sized version at Target.com/beautybox.

The information card gives brief details on each item, and there’s a $3 off $15 coupon too.

EDEN BodyWorks Peppermint Tea Tree Shampoo ($1.75)

EDEN BodyWorks Peppermint Tea Tree Conditioner ($1.75)

I took a shower this evening and washed my hair with this super minty set – what a fun scent, and good for your hair and scalp too – it contains pepperment and tea tree oils to help clarify your scalp. I didn’t find that the conditioner was super moisturizing and I was nearly afraid it would make my hair dry, but it turned out great. My scalp always gets itchy with changing weather – this is a great pick for October!

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer – Coconut Oil ($1.24)  The moisturizer is formulated to blend with water on your skin on contact. It does contain parabens, and I just can’t seem to work putting moisturizer on my skin into my routine. This appeared in this box with the foundation in January – Target needs to get some more inspired curation.target-beauty-box-october-2016-img_7604

Derma E Hydrating Day Crème with Hyaluronic Acid ($3.56) This ultra-rich day cream is so rich I was surprised they called it a day cream! It absorbed nicely though and I love this product’s credentials: vegan, GMO- and cruelty-free! It’s also enriched with aloe and antioxidants for further healing.

FYI – it’s super scented. It didn’t bother my face, but the Target site notes that it’s unscented. No way.

Wet n Wild ProLine Graphic Marker Eyeliner – Black ($4) This one is full-size, and I’m telling you, after seeing the rainbow highlighter  I have a whole new opinion of Wet & Wild! This liner has an angled chisel tip marker point, so you can basically just Mr. Sketch your eyelids! It works great for huge full lines or thin lines and was mostly waterproof. I was impressed with this! I think it’s the perfect item to get in an October box – let me tell you my eyeliner stash always gets decimated by my husband while he attempts to find the perfect eyeliner for the kids’ holiday costumes!

target-beauty-box-october-2016-img_7609 Laneige BB Cushion ($6.80 – $2.27 per shade) They didn’t include the darkest shade on this trial kit, which has to be disappointing to a lot of ladies.  It does cover Light, Medium, and Medium Dark.target-beauty-box-october-2016-img_7610

This is a popular subscription box sample and I’ve used it plenty of times – the foundation is on a little sponge.  target-beauty-box-october-2016-img_7611

They provide an antimicrobial pouf to tap it on to your skin. I get nice lightweight coverage from this, but this isn’t a particularly valuable sample except to test it out if you like it, and see what shade works best.

ChapStick Total Hydration 3 in 1 Tinted Lip Balm ($4.99) Did anyone get a variation on this? I received Rose Petal – and it lost a few points with me because it tasted and smelled like rose – not my favorite scent. Despite that, I was excited to order this box specifically because of this product. I’ve used the Total Hydration ChapStick before and loved it, and I loved the idea of a tinted version. The scent dissipated fairly quickly and the tint is really pretty, stays on a long time, and is soothing to my lips. I would for sure buy this in another color (as long as it didn’t smell like roses!).

Here’s some swatches of my products! I thought this was a good box – a total value of about $24, so a few dollars less than what was claimed, but I did use the sale prices! Even if I didn’t count the value of the foundation samples I still think this box is a good deal! I love the lip balm, moisturizer, shampoo set, and even the Wet n Wild!

I do wish this box had fewer repeats and less items with questionable ingredients.

I got a coral shade of the Chapstick. Haven’t opened it – my daughter will use it. I didn’t much like the feel of that day cream, but don’t need it anyway as I have several others I haven’t used yet.

I actually was super excited to see the jergens wet skin moisturizer again – I love it!

I got the “merlot” shade of tinted chapstick, which I was excited about because I wear a lot of red lipstick…. (and nope, no rose or merlot scent to this one) – but it does kind of come out dark and vampy (at least on my pale self) so Im glad its just a tint…
