Love with Food is a popular snack subscription that now carries a gluten-free option! It is a fun snack discovery subscription available in three versions: classic tasting box, deluxe/family size, and gluten-free. This version is the gluten-free box, but you can see our reviews of the other versions too.

You might not know it from all of the more adventurous Japanese snack boxes I review, but I actually do have a sensitivity for gluten (along with a laundry list of other ingredients) so I have to be careful how much of it I consume. In Canada, gluten-free products are considerably more expensive than they are in the US, and when our dollar wasn’t as weak, my entire family would pile into the car and drive an hour to the Trader Joe’s in Washington just to stock up on the GF goodies there.

Love with Food now ships internationally, and my October box arrived mid-month.

Tessemae’s All Natural Lemon Garlic Dressing – This salad dressing packet is the perfect size for a salad. It’s actually bigger than I’m used to, and would probably coat an entire full-size salad (serving 2-4). I’m going to have to try this soon on a fresh salad.

Awake Energy Granola Bar – I’ve tried the plain Awake chocolate – the gimmick is that it’s infused with caffeine! This granola bar is Dark Chocolate Caramel and wasn’t too sweet.

Bixby Organic Bar – Oooo, now this sounds great! Dark chocolate, peanut butter, and sea salt – this one is coming with me in my carry-on bag for my flight this weekend. (Airplane food sucks!)

RW Garcia Sweet Potato Crackers – With flaxseed, sesame, and chia, these are lightly sweet due to the sweet potato flavor. They’re also not too salty. I think these would be great for dipping into hummus or salsa since they’re not too flavourful on their own.

Beanitos – I have always wanted to try these since they get rave reviews. The Garden Fresh Salsa is my favorite of the two because they have a mild spicy kick to them. The Sweet Chili and Sour Cream ones are also good, and remind me of a Ms. Vickies Potato Chip we have here in Canada.

Walker’s Gluten Free Shortbread – OMG! There’s gluten free shortbread?! This is to die for. If you closed your eyes and took a bite, or didn’t know it was gluten-free, you would never have been able to tell. It might be just a touch drier than shortbread (since rice flour is not exactly the same as wheat flour) but honestly, it’s pretty darn close.

Almond Roca – Yes, I love almond roca! My aunt makes an awesome batch of it around Christmas every year, so I have strong holiday memories associated with it.

Salted Caramel – I’m saving this for dessert tonight – it feels perfectly squishy.

Garden of Life Organic Protein – This smoothie mix (just add almond milk or water!) contains buckwheat, which is different from regular gluten, but is still something I’m allergic to. The irony that I can’t eat something in a gluten free box! I think my sister will like this, though!

Pamela’s Gluten-Free Pancake Mix – Awwwww, yeah! I love pancakes, and making my own GF mix from scratch is such a chore when I want to indulge. Definitely going to whip up a batch of these for dinner tonight… who says breakfast foods need to be limited to breakfast? You can also use this mix for other baked goods!

img_5054

Runa Clean Energy Drink – This is an orange-flavored energy drink containing guayasa, which has natural caffeine in it. I sense this will come in handy for long video gaming marathons.

img_5055

Maple Bacon Kettle Chips – I love kettle chips, but nothing will beat Ms. Vickies for me – these come pretty close, though! The maple bacon flavor is awesome.

img_5056

Gluten Free Peanut Butter Bite Size Cookies – Oh man, these remind me of elementary school, although I preferred the Ritz cheese ones. It’ll be good to have something like this around to snack on. My cupboards will finally have healthy snacks in them!

I’m seriously jealous of all the delicious gluten free snacks that are so easily accessible in the states – it’s definitely more of a challenge up north. So many of these brands I haven’t even heard of, so it was fun to try all sorts of new things! I really enjoyed going through my first Love With Food box, and am looking forward to seeing what arrives next month.
