Everything in my August 2016 box! Parts of my palette were somewhat lighter and brighter than the theme – but I think that’s due to my profile (also I LOVE what I got!).
Simply Shaker Liberty Thread ($2.40) From The Gentle Art! I’m not sure what the difference is between this and the regular colorways, since the regular ones are intended to be muted for reproduction samplers. Love the color though!
Dinky Dyes Peridot Silk Thread ($4.50) This is a 180 and I think it’s fabulous. I have another skein of this so I’m going to have to hunt down a use for lots of super crazy bright green!
Sulky Cotton Petites Wildflower Thread ($1.69) Either useful for stitching or finishing. Love this purple!
Gloriana Threads Midnight Silk Floss ($7.33) I love this for a night sky, and now I’m starting to think of projects that this could be used on. It’s so beautiful and silk too!
Ship’s Manor Witches Knickers Cotton Thread ($2) Eek! This one isn’t colorfast (I believe they’re changing their line to be so) so I’m a little wary of using it except on small projects.
Gloriana Threads Sweet Lavender Silk Floss ($7.33) More silk, and in a gorgeous lavender too.
I’m a cross-stitcher primarily and even though all the threads aren’t exactly interchangeable with DMC floss, I’ve been able to really incorporate them in my stitching!
This subscription is perfect for any embroiderer that loves trying out new threads and for cross-stitchers looking to stretch their repertoire!
I love the purples and blues and the sharp contrast of the lime green this month. I would also love to see a thread guide – I found the information in Broderi Box to be extremely useful and really appreciated that. As Stitchy Box grows I would love to see them develop more content and value-added features, instead of just additional subscription
