ZBOX August 2016 Subscription Box Review

ZBOX is here! ZBOX is a geeky subscription box from the UK. The box is printed with their logo and classic faces from pop culture such as Deadpool, Cap, Boba Fett, and the Joker.

My first look — and I had to be very, very careful not to blink after that angel spotted me!

August’s theme is Invasion.

The ZBOX magazine is so well done. I love flipping through it; it has all sorts of articles and isn’t just limited to listing out what’s in the box. There are interviews, articles, and so on.

Invasion Shirt (~$10 USD) This shirt is a mashup of a bunch of alien-themed movies. I spot references to Mars Attacks, and there’s also references to Cowboys vs Aliens and The Day the Earth Stood Still!

Alien Twin Pack (~$20 USD) This twin pack was actually a Nerd Block exclusive once upon a time, and is going for around $20 on eBay! It features small vinyls of Ripley and Big Chap.

Weeping Angel Bobblehead (~$15) If you haven’t seen the episode “Blink” of Doctor Who, stop reading this, log in to Amazon, and watch it. Even if you’ve never watched an episode of Doctor Who before, or even know what Doctor Who is, watch it anyway. (I have converted more than ten people into Whovians using this episode). You don’t need any prior knowledge of the show to have the LITERAL PANTS SCARED OFF OF YOU. After watching it, you’ll understand why I would never, ever want a Weeping Angel bobblehead that could one day move without being touched.

Ahem. I found it hard to get an official price on this; the box had a “12.95” sticker on the bottom, but that might be in pounds sterling. In any case, people are selling them on Amazon for around $15-20.

Warcraft Durotan Bleacher Creature ($5) This small version of a Bleacher Creature features the orc character Durotan. The print quality is strong and the details are awesome. (The movie? Not as awesome. But video game adaptations never are.)

August’s ZBOX had a value of $50 which isn’t bad. I wasn’t as big of a fan of the theme this month, personally, but it was still fun to unbox.
