W.I.N. (What is Next?) Beauty Kit is a monthly beauty subscription that sends the best in Asian beauty products in a cute bag. It is $14 a month and free shipping is included. Most of the products I received this month were from Korea, with the exception of the bag and sheet mask, which were from China. Here is a little info on this new subscription from their website:

Asian beauty and skincare is now increasingly recognized all over the world for its revolutionary, effective, innovative, and even “fun” products. With major beauty retailers spotlighting asian brands, the increased exposure has also resulted in an increased accessibility of products in the global market. But this change has also raised new questions for us – which products work? What should we get? Where should we get it?

W.I.N. aims to answer those questions by curating the best and introducing those products to us one sample at a time!

My products arrived in a shiny silver bubble mailer and inside was a bag, a mask, and an info card. The rest of the items were placed inside the bag.

I love product info cards and they are especially important when dealing with products that may not have instructions in English.

Four out of six products this month did not have info in English so again, this card is very helpful. A link to find the ingredients online would be useful for those who have allergies.

W.I.N. Beauty Kit includes 5-6 samples (with at least one being a full-sized product), a collectible bag, and a product usage card. This month subscribers received one of two bags; I received a Cartoon Choice Wristlet ($3.75) featuring a cute monster who reminds me of Sulley from Monsters, Inc. There wasn’t a product tag inside so I am not sure of the items used to construct the bag but I think polyurethane would be the best guess.

The bag even looks cute on the other side! I can’t see my 40-something self walking down the street with this bag and it is too big to fit in my purse but I know my preschool students will get a kick out of it.

The inside has a felt lining but it also had a slight plastic or moth ball scent so it will need to be aired out a bit.

I am loving the delicate scent of these Herb Day Cleansing Tissues ($6) from The Face Shop. They contain rosemary, soap weed, and sage extracts and the packaging is just beautiful! I used two of them as a first cleansing step and then finished with a toner to remove all traces of the day.

Etude House AC Clean Up Gel Lotion ($1.13) and Clean Up Toner ($1.13) contain cypress water, tea tree oil, and salicylic acid and are great for acne prone or reddish skin. Gently massage or pat this herb scented toner on clean skin and follow with the gel lotion. My skin tends to be dry so I followed with argan oil to give my skin some much-needed moisture. I hope to discover some more products from this brand in future boxes!

I was unable to find the MG H2O Brightening Sheet Mask ($3?) online but according to the info card this mask has rose extract and is supposed to leave skin hydrated and claims to be twice as effective as a standard sheet mask.

Ooh, two masks in one! Caolion Blackhead Steam Pore Pack and Original Pore Pack ($6.32) contains a self-heating scrub that clears pores of gunk while it exfoliates and a cooling mask that soothes the skin and closes the pores. I didn’t get a chance to try this since my pores are not really a problem for me. It looks like a pretty generous sample though!

Missha All Around Safe Block Waterproof Sun Milk SPF 50 (3 tiny foil packets) is from a brand that is cruelty-free and not tested on animals. Each of these foil packs has enough for one or two facial applications but not enough to test on the body. This is a milky liquid that quickly disappeared into my skin and promises to be waterproof and sweat resistant. Non-sticky.

Overall, I was very pleased with my first W.I.N. Beauty Kit! My August kit had a value of $21.33, which is more than the price paid for the subscription. The items sent this month did seem intended for acne prone skin so I hope to see a moisturizing or anti-aging bag in the future, or maybe their target audience is younger (hence the cute monster bag). I will need to see what is in the next few bags to see if that is the case. Still, I can’t wait to see “what is next” for September!

What did you think of W.I.N. Beauty Kit?

I will forever love Etude House; been using their products for almost ten years now, and it works just as well as Laneige (they’re by the same parent company). Plus their packaging is so cute!
