My first trösta box was wrapped in brown paper and had the name and logo stamped on the sides. “Trösta” means to comfort or console in Swedish and that is exactly what this subscription is all about.

Here is a view of the logo in color. What a pretty presentation!

There was a product information card on top that had a self-care calendar on the other side.

Here is a closer look at the product card. The theme for July’s box was “Adventure”, or in Swedish, “Äventyr”.

The self-care calendar had suggestions for taking a little time out for yourself every day. The days that have the trösta box logo on them have suggestions on their blog. This card also has instructions for using the flower press (see more below).

Here’s a look at what was beneath the cards…

…and these are all the products included for this month. What a haul! The bright and natural colors look great together. How did they manage to color coordinate so well?

Since the theme this month was Adventure, what could be better than a portable canteen with the word printed on the very product! Tote + Able’s Water + Beverage Canteen ($19) has a food grade plastic liner and holds 16 ounces of your favorite beverage, be that water or wine or whatever floats your boat.

The liner is BPA free and the canteen can be folded and put away when empty.

If you happen to find some pretty flowers while you are out and about (even in your own backyard) you can press them in the IMPRESSED by Nature Mini DIY Handmade Flower Press Kit ($9). This kit contains birchwood, cardboard, and rubber bands so you can create the perfect environment for flower preservation.

The press included a card with instructions on its use and says that it takes about a month for the flowers to dry.

Anywhere Connections by Magda Lipka Falck ($10.46) are designed to help you learn new things about yourself and others (including people you may not know well) and can be used in any setting. Just draw a card and follow the prompt.

The back of the box has a few samples of the types of assignments you might find.

The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is jump in the shower. I love the invigorating scent of Ginger & Bee All Natural Handmade Soap in Nature’s Walk ($4) (there are many scents to choose from). This soap is exfoliating and is made with olive and coconut oils, shea butter, and essential oils. I am not usually a fan of handmade soaps since I have hard water and they leave a film on my skin but it did lather well and felt luxurious.

I love the vivid colors on this Go Wild Card ($3.50) from A Quartzy Life. The inside is blank and it includes an envelope.

A Quartzy Life Wild & Free Temporary Tattoo ($1.50) I don’t think I have worn a temporary tattoo since I was a kid, but I am going to make an exception and place this one somewhere, probably where no one else can see it, or maybe where they can, I haven’t decided yet. Isn’t it pretty? It looks like a watercolor print and it is supposed to last for weeks. This is very adventurous for me.

If you really want to treat yourself, try something sweet! I liked the flavor of these Goodie Girl Gluten-Free Oatmeal Raisin Cookies ($4.99). They have a sweet flavor and crumbly consistency but the raisins were kind of hard to chew (I have weird teeth). They reminded me of Mother’s Iced Oatmeal Cookies. I like the suggestion on the Goodie Girl website that said to crumble them and layer with berries, yogurt, and honey for a parfait. This brand is available at some nationwide stores such as Wal-Mart and Whole Foods.

Overall, I thought my first trösta box was very delightful and indeed adventurous! They really kept to the theme and not only that but they did it while making everything color coordinated as well. The July box had a value of $52.45 which was more than the price paid for the subscription. The tattoo, believe it or not, is the one thing I can’t wait to try! Just as soon as I figure out where to place it.

This is a fun box. I especially love the tattoo and flower press. I don’t question the value just think the price is too steep for a “fun” box.
