Tac Pack is a monthly subscription box of tactical gear delivered to your front door.  Items can include:  Tactical accessories, EDC (every day carry) gear, essential tools, cleaning supplies, and/or apparel.  Every box will include between 3 and 7 items and usually has a MSRP value of $70+.

All of this was in the box.  Each box is $49.95 and ships on the 15th or 16th of each month.

This product description card described each item in the box and gave the retail value.  Also, 20 of July’s boxes received a bonus gift of a BullMoose Tactical Muzzle Brake.  Our box didn’t have one, but they included a coupon code for 25% off at BullMoose Tactical if you want to buy your own.

This hat, the TacPack Smooth Operator Hat ($26) was in the box.  The hat is a neutral tan color and comes with a built in velcro that can be worn with or without the included GBA (Gang Bangers Anonymous) LeadSlinger Patch.  My teenage son swooped on this.  He loves the way it fits.  It is a very well made hat.

Next up is this Key Smart Rugged ($30.00) with extension pack.  “Keysmart has developed this bomb-proof upgraded version of the original Keysmart with TacPack Subscribers in Mind!  This upgraded version is made for hard-use with thicker material that we were able to beat the heck out of and it still stayed true.  Keysmart also tossed in an expansion pack for you guys!”

This product has some definite positives, especially if you carry a lot of standard metal keys.  If all your keys fit into it than I think it would be a great space saver and very practical.  But, I tried it out and I had two key fobs and a larger plastic key that wouldn’t fit into it.  They are still attachable to the end, but the keys are still bulky when you do this, which kind of defeated the purpose.  I think it would be more practical for storing metal keys only or someone that only had one key fob.  I think my husband might use it to store his church keys which are all metal.  Also, I’ve heard they are great to attache key chain bottle openers to so that you can get more leverage.  You are really just using Key Smart to turn your keys into a kind of Swiss army knife.  It is very sturdy and well made.  I really liked this product and wish it worked better for the keys I have.

This Gerber Hook Knife ($13) was in the box.  This is a handy and practical knife that is great for cutting through rope like materials.  The blade is actually the crooked part in the front and is securely hidden in the sheath when stowed.  It is good for cutting seatbelt, clothing, straps, fishing line, tarps, ropes, etc.  I have been in a car wreck where a passenger could not get out because the seat belt had locked on impact.  This tool would have been great to have on my keychain that day!  Very practical emergency tool.

Also, it comes with a lifetime guarantee from Gerber for the original owner.

Lastly was this Strike Industries Angled Foregrip ($23).  “Everyone should be running an AFG as part of their kit.  We really enjoyed the ergonomics of the Strike Industries AFG.  We picked an AFG that was rail mounted so that even people with KeyMod/MLOK rails could apply this to their rig with the use of a small rail piece.”

This grip came with everything you need to mount it to a gun with rails and very complete instructions.  My only question is, what if I don’t have a gun that this would work for?  I feel that maybe it is a little too specific of a product for a subscription box, but maybe I’m just not enough of a tactical junky!

TacPack is a practical way to get the tactical gear you need and to learn about the newest products available.  My favorite item was the Gerber knife.
