Sugarbash recently switched from a monthly box to a bimonthly box. I have been watching the subscription evolve in response to readers feedback and jumped at the chance to review a box.

I am soooo curious! I can’t see much yet.

Theme
Theme

The August-September theme is “Me Time.” Sounds great to me!

Curator Letter

I like that Shirley encouraged us to take time for ourselves. We tend to ignore our needs and postpone “Me Time” to an unknown date in the future. Take time to indulge!

The information card is a tri-fold that has the theme, curator letter and item information including description, prices, and coupon codes.

Sugarbash Faves and Raves - August-September 2016
Sugarbash Faves and Raves – August-September 2016

Here are the items for the Sugarbash Faves and Raves August-September box. Although I have been following Sugarbash since it appeared on the subscription box market, I was unaware what the bimonthly box cost. This box is only $35.00 with free shipping!

Gorjana

Gorjana "Aida" Gold Cuff
Gorjana “Aida” Gold Cuff

I was admiring a Gorjana jewelry piece that Brandy received in her August RocksBox, and now I have my own Gorjana gold cuff! I was happy to see the beautiful, delicate Gorjana “Aida” Gold Cuff ($55.00) with its sparkling cubic zirconias on each end of the cuff. The cuff is a beautiful statement piece by itself or can be layered with other bracelets. It was easy to adjust to fit my wrist. I LOVE it!

The cuff came with a $25.00 jewelry card. J (age 8) and I looked over the bracelets together. He selected the Mini + Me Interlocking Hearts Adult Bracelet because he loves his mommy. It will be a Christmas gift. I entered the code in the promo field, shipping cost $5.00, and paid by PayPal. Don’t wait too long to use the code because it expires 10/30/16.

Orly BreathableTreatment + Color
Orly Breathable Treatment + Color

I am impressed. The Orly Breathable Treatment + Color Nail Polish ($8.99, .6oz)  launched on July 21, 2016 and was a brand new product when the August-September Sugarbash boxes were sent out to subscribers. There are five different subscriber colors. I received TLC, a bright orchid creme, which is a reminiscence of the theme “Me Time.” The formula allows nails to breathe, eliminates the need for base and top coat, and has a blend of Argan oil, & vitamins B5 & C.

Modeling bracelet and nail polish
Modeling bracelet and nail polish

My 17-year-old son promised me that my hand did not look old, fat, and there were no shadows in the pictures. Hmm! I love how the bracelet looks on me. The nail polish went on easily. I could tell as soon as I began applying it that it was a different type of formula than regular nail polishes. It is a little thicker and lays better. I spent maybe a minute applying the nail polish and ran out to capture the last of the sunlight. I will be passing it to my sister who is going to love the color because I prefer a five-free nail polish or higher. I do think the color is absolutely gorgeous and is a great answer for people seeking a quick, beautiful manicure with made in the USA nail polish!

Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

The Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (10 oz, 14 servings, $24.00) is an anti-aging dietary supplement. The collagen peptides are from cattle raised in Brazil eating grass out on pastures. The unflavored powered supplement can be added to a smoothie, coffee, other drinks, or try it with oatmeal or pasta sauce. It is kosher, gluten-free, rBGH free, non-gmo, and preservative free. We loose collagen as we age. Replacing it should create healthy nails, hair, and stronger bones. It is similar to gelatin if you are unfamiliar with collagen. Little Lamb, the fluffy white cat, kept sniffing it when I had it opened. It must be good!

Revena Daily Hydration Moistuizer
Brevena Daily Hydration Moisturizer
Creamy!
Creamy!

The Brevena Daily Hydration Moisturizer (2 oz, $79.00) is a lightweight cream formulated with Macro B Complex, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and vitamin C. The fragrance-free formula is truly fragrance-free. I could not detect a whiff of anything! The moisturizer improves skin texture, adds firmness and hydration, and improves the appearance of wrinkles. I will be passing it to my sister because there are a few ingredients in it that I wish not to use. My sister is totally fine with that.

Time for a relaxing bath! The Hydra Aromatherapy “Chill Pill” Bath Fizzies in Champagne (2 baths, $8.00) has almond oil in it. The growing company has relocated to Kentucky, USA and uses essential oils in its products. I may have to wait until T’s Senior Year is over before I have time to take a relaxing bath!

Green Market Sparking Citrus "Awakening" Candle
Green Market Sparking Citrus “Awakening” Candle

The Green Market Sparkling Citrus ” Awakening” Candle (7 oz, $16.00) is a soy candle with a cotton wick and has a burn time of 45-50 hours.  The candles are handpoured in small batches. They are numbered and signed. I looked under the cap, and my candle is 22/30. The notes are orange and sugared lemon with hints of palermo fruit. It has a light citrus scent that add to the atmosphere, rather than dominate it. My eight-year-old says it smells like good soap! The candles are made in Pennsylvania, USA.

Stash Tea "Mellow Moments" Tea
Stash Tea “Mellow Moments” Tea

I could smell the mint as soon as I opened the Stash Tea “Mellow Moments” (18 tea bags, appx $4.50). It has peppermint, chamomile, and spearmint in the tea. It’s a delightful end of the day tea that starts strong with mint and mellows out. The tea is blended and packaged in Oregon, USA.

Time to relax!

I am impressed with the Sugarbash Faves and Raves August-September box. The items are varied and fit the theme well making it an excellent lifestyle box. Every item had an exclusive Sugarbash coupon code except for the Gorjana Cuff which had a $25.00 gift card. This shows me that Sugarbash has working relationships with the brands featured in the box. My favorite item is the Gorjana Aida Gold Cuff! The value of the box is almost $200.00 which is amazing for a $35.00 box. The Sugarbash Faves and Raves is an excellent bimonthly lifestyle box that won’t break the bank!

I’m considering this box, but that collagen supplement is a kick in the guts. Companies can make collagen from marine life or plants, but this says it’s from cattle.

I don’t feel comfortable killing a cow because it might help my skin look better for a short time.

This looks like a very interesting box.

I doubt the cow was killed for skin care purposes. Brazil has a large cattle industry.
