Snack Sack is a monthly subscription service that sends boxes to your home that are filled to the brim with a combination of organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, all-natural, vegan and fair-trade snacks!

Like always, August’s box arrived chock full of snacks!

I love how, in addition to the plethora of snacks, the box included coupons for future purchases.

Each month the box arrives with a list of its contents. I love how easy Snack Sack makes it to identify the gluten free, vegan and non-GMO snacks!

Peanut Butter & Co’s Dark Chocolate Dreams ($1 based on the cost of 10) tastes like a thick peanut butter with cocoa mixed in. It would be a great snack for taking on an outdoor adventure.

Gluten Free Bites’ Coconut Cashew Crunch ($1 based on the cost of 4 oz) combines cashews, toasted coconut and dates for a lovely afternoon snack. I love that these are made with all-natural, non-GMO ingredients that I recognize.

Lotus’ Biscoff ($0.44 based on the cost of 120) is a delicious, crunchy, sweet cookie that my kids happily gobbled down. Originally known as speculoos in Belgium, these delicious cookies combine cinnamon with caramelized sugar to achieve their unique flavor.

Raw Rev Glo’s Mixed Nuts, Caramel and Sea Salt Bar ($1.83 based on the cost of 12) is my favorite of their flavors to date! Filled with creamy chocolate, this was a real treat! High in protein, fiber and iron, it’s easy to feel good about indulging in this decadent bar.

I was happy to get to try another flavor of Love Grown’s cereal. Unfortunately, I didn’t care for the Chocolate Comet Crispies ($0.61 based on the cost of 9.5 oz) as well as last month’s Blueberry Vanilla Polar Puffs. The Chocolate Comet Crispies tasted a lot like Cocoa Krispies, which I also don’t care for. Naturally, my kids loved this cereal! I think they were happy not to have to share it with me. I was glad that Comet Crispies are made with beans–navy, lentil and garbanzo beans to be exact–for a nutritious morning meal.

Jackson’s Honest Sea Salt Potato Chips ($1.19 based on the cost of 36) are crunchy! This package surprised me for two reasons. First, when I tasted Jackson’s Honest Purple Heirloom chips in my February 2016 Snack Sack, they blew me away. It was, hands down, the best potato chip I had ever had. I was expecting these to elicit a similar reaction, but they did not. I thought they were fine. Second, I was surprised that the expiration date was so close to the date of receipt on these, and I’m wondering if this is at all linked to my take on the chips overall.

Not typically a fan of salt and vinegar potato chips, I was surprised that I thought Jackson’s Honest Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips ($1.19 based on the cost of 36) were pretty good. My husband, who typically loves salt and vinegar potato chips, however, didn’t care for these. Unlike most salt and vinegar chips I’ve tried, these were a little sweet.

This Bar Saves Lives’ Peanut Butter and Jelly Bar ($2.08 based on the cost of 12) tastes just like a peanut butter and strawberry jelly granola bar. It lasted for about 30 seconds.

I loved Dolcetto Petites’ Cookies and Cream Wafer Bites ($0.50 wholesale; $1 retail?) in this month’s box! They’re light, crunchy and creamy and have a delicious cream cookie flavor. I ate these happily for an afternoon snack.

Sola Bar’s Cinnamon Bar ($2.08) was my least favorite of this month’s bars. It’s intended as a savory meal replacement for times when you’re too busy to cook. Made with peanuts, sunflower seeds, flax seeds and sesame seeds, it packs a protein and fiber punch. Even though it’s called a cinnamon bar, the cinnamon isn’t especially prominent. It’s tempered by nutmeg, ginger and clove. Although Sola claims that cinnamon will help curb a sweet tooth, it didn’t do it for me; I kept wishing this were sweeter (and a little more moist!).

My kids and I loved Nature’s Joy’s Pistachio Snack Pack ($1.32 based on the cost of 12). These weren’t as salty as the brand we usually buy, which I appreciated.

IMG_0813

Belgian Boys’ DeLiege Wafel ($1.20 based on the cost of 5) is a soft, sweet waffle in a bag. While I prefer fresh waffles, this wasn’t bad. My kids ate it happily.

I was able to fit all of this month’s snacks inside the included burlap sack. I love these sacks! After they help keep my review-writing organized, I use them to collect my kids’ toys.

I loved how Snack Sack delivered a ton of relatively healthy snacks, yet each one was substantially different from the other. Some would be perfect for lunchboxes, others for treks, and still others for lounging around the house. Some were extremely sweet; others were savory. Some were soft, and others were crunchy. Some were made of fruits and vegetables, and others were principally nuts. In short, whatever your snack persuasion, Snack Sack would deliver. We can’t wait to see what they send us next month!
