Stitch Fix September 2016 box

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. Your stylist will send you 5 pieces based on your profile for you to try on at home and hopefully fall in love with. There are no coupons for Stitch Fix but if you hit the jackpot and keep everything, you save 25% on your whole fix (read below for details).

Everything always comes wrapped so neatly!  It makes it really fun to open!

Stitch Fix September 2016 (4)

Every box includes a set of styling cards with suggestions on how to wear the particular item. There’s usually a dressed up (right) and dressed down (left) version for each piece of clothing. I do wish these cards were accessible in your Stitch Fix profile. If you email them they’ll send them via PDF.

I  find the styling cards very helpful. I am not a naturally good-at-fashion person and these help a LOT. Even if I don’t keep the pieces I use them as inspiration – like my own personal fashion editor!

Here’s how Stitch Fix works: fill out your style profile! This includes style, budget, what you’re looking for, and you can get as detailed as you want with the notes to your stylist. It really really does help to provide notes to what you’re seeking, and a Pinterest board if you have one!

You will also receive a separate paper with a list of your items. You’ll be charged a $20 styling fee and shipped five items to try on at home. If you keep anything your styling fee will be applied to your order, but if you don’t, you will pay the $20 fee.

The styling fee is so worth it – I never go clothes shopping anymore. I just wait for my fix! If you keep everything you get a 25% discount, so it pays off to be specific in your style profile . You will check out and get charged through your Stitch Fix account. Return the pieces you don’t want in the prepaid mailer (free shipping!).

Stitch Fix September 2016 review

Everything in my fix for September.

Stitch Fix September 2016 (5)

Urban Expressions Jak Zipper Detail Tote ($68) While I was excited to get a bag in my September Fix – I always am! – this was a bit too neutral for me (plus my current everything bag is this Honest Company tote in Platinum).

Stitch Fix September 2016 (1)
Whoops! They didn’t wrap up this bag and the ink from the box rubbed off on thr bag. Stitch Fix September 2016 (2)

We’re sorry to hear that the Urban Expressions Tote reached you in less than perfect condition. This is not up to our service standards, and we’d love to work with you to make this right.

I checked for a replacement and reserved an exchange for you. If you’d like the exchange, please continue to your check out survey to make your purchases. You’ll notice the exchange is reserved under the original item. After checking out, we’ll send you a confirmation email with the tracking number within two business days.

This resolves the issue of rhr incomplete fix but as I wasn’t interested in the bag, it didnt really do anything for me personally.

It has a nice navy stripe interior. Stitch Fix September 2016 (7)
and a cool geometric accent!

Market & Spruce Evella Boatneck Top ($64) This is a cool layering piece, and I think really responsive to my desire not to receive pieces that have to be layered.

Stitch Fix September 2016 (9)

Le Lis Georgianna Mixed Material Top ($48) I love everything about this top! The color is perfect for fall, the back is a great pattern, and it’s perfect for a work to dinner piece!

Stitch Fix September 2016 (10) Stitch Fix September 2016 (11)

Pixley Indianan Graphic Print Mixed Material Tee ($44) As much as I liked the previous top, my personal style definitely veers towards whimsy and this really fit the bill! I would like to blame it on being a mom but I just love critter prints.

Stitch Fix September 2016 (12)

London Times Anaisey Jersey Dress ($68) This item was a love! The intense paisley pattern does a lot of shaping and just looks fantastic. The colors are everything I want to see for fall – and the structure and fabric were perfect. I couldn’t ask for anything more – I thought the price was right too!

I was super duper happy with my fix! If I he put this fix together I would have selected an item that was a bit less preppy than the first shirt and a deep jewel tone bag. That being said, I think 3 out of 5 is great, especially when I really only need to find one new love with each fix!

Those are the most unflattering clothes I’ve ever seen…no style or fitted items…just plain hang off the shoulder baggy tops and dress! Surely this company won’t last long!

What’s wrong with preppy???? (just kidding). I grew up wearing preppy and being preppy but have gained too much weight and would look really dumb in preppy clothes now. Oh well.

LOL! fixed! I wrote this on my phone – which I have set to correct any autocorrections of curse words back to the words i really meant. It’s impossible to type “ducking” on my phone too 🙂 I’m terrible.
