On the back of the envelope, there’s a mention of changes to come starting next month. I haven’t filled up the survey, so I don’t have a clue of what these changes might be.

This month’s artist is Sandi Falconer, and we received a card with informations about the artwork and a short interview with the artist.

The back of the card points to the full interview with the artist. I always find it interesting to learn about an artist process to get to his creation.

This month, we received her “Bag of Tricks” print ($20 CAD) . It is square serigraph (8″ x 8″) that delivers a nice touch of colour! I really like that even though it’s bubble gum pink, it doesn’t give a girly vibe. It’s playful and classy with only the black and white images, and look at that rabbit! He’s just so done with the whole trick! (And there’s a dove. Bird.)

On the back of the art, we have the info about it (title, artist, medium, and website) as well as display suggestions (THANK YOU!!!!). I always find it hard to find a good frame for new artwork, and I don’t want to have to bring it to the store to find a frame (unless it needs something custom made). So it’s nice to be told what it would look great with.

I will either display it in my bedroom (green walls) or in the playroom (white walls).

I really enjoy this subscription as it makes me discover new artists that I would never had heard of otherwise. Sandi Falconer is not only doing visual arts, she also designs tote bags (she has one with the same bag of tricks print, but in beige) and t-shirts.

The only thing I find odd is that there is not an easy way to show who the artist is once the art is up on the wall. It would be nice to have a little card with the art info that we could hang beside the art or something like that.
