This month’s selection arrived wrapped in tissue paper inside of the hand woven basket.

August 2016’s Benefit basket contained both a hand woven palm basket and a zippered pouch.

I love these baskets ($12 or 3 for $30)! They are produced by a weaving collective in Oaxaca, Mexico, specifically for Globe In, using previously discarded palm fronds and water-based paints. Each basket is 6″ in diameter and 5″ tall. When my daughter isn’t running around the house wearing these on her head, I use them to help contain her toys.

This month’s featured product is a block print pouch that was produced in India by Matr Boomie.

This gorgeous pouch comes in three different colors. I received a purple pouch with gold accents.

The pouch was made by Matr Boomie, a fair trade wholesaler and design house based in Austin, Texas, that recruits, trains and partners with artisans in India to produce items to Matr Boomie’s specifications while also helping its artisans develop community-wide infrastructure that will help empower and sustain their communities.

I love this pouch! The lovely blue-purple color provides a gorgeous backdrop to the gold paisley motif. The pouch is lined with a soft purple fabric and can be secured with a zipper adorned with a purple tassle. I plan to use mine as a clutch for date nights.

This is the fifth month that I’ve received Globe In’s Benefit Basket, and I couldn’t be happier with the quality or value of what they’ve sent. I love the global influences in all of their products, and I love that they support small artisans around the world. I can’t wait to see what they send out next month!
