Fashionabli August 2016 Subscription Box Review

Fashionabli is a monthly subscription that sends 1-3 high end jewelry pieces from around the world to your door at a fraction of their retail cost. Each month, Fashionabli partners with companies that empower women to run their own businesses, such as Mata Traders, Starfish Project, Me to We and Five and Two. Subscriptions cost $45 each month and contain pieces whose total retail value is at least $75. Discounts are available for longer prepaid subscriptions. Month to month subscriptions may be canceled without penalty prior to the 25th of the preceding month.

When I opened up my first box from Fashionabli, I was taken immediately by the gorgeous prints in my box!

My August 2016 box contained an infinity scarf, a necklace, a ring and a pair of earrings.

I appreciated this introductory note from Sydney Malain, Fashionabli’s Founder. I’m excited to develop my accessory wardrobe, and I’m thrilled Fashionabli is here to help! When you sign up for a subscription, you get to specify what color of metals you prefer (gold, silver or mixed) and whether or not your ears are pierced.

I love how Fashionabli supports female entrepreneurs by featuring products made by women!

I’m also excited to check out their store for Christmas gifts for my friends and family.

Among the products I received this month were those produced by Mata Traders, an organization that provides fair wages to artisans in India and Nepal so that they, in turn, can provide for their families and communities.

I love the print of this Red Blockprint Infinity Scarf by Mata Traders ($25 according to Fashionabli; $32 online)! I used a similar cotton fabric in a different color in a twirly skirt I made myself last year. Now, though, I wish I had used this fabric; I like it even better than the one I picked out a year ago!

Mata Trader’s Layered Amulet Necklace ($29) is very attractive! Made from resin and gold-tone plated brass, the amulet reminded me of a large animal tooth, which I thought was cool. I also loved the pouch it came in! I can’t wait to reuse it to help contain my daughter’s toys.

I love how well the infinity scarf and the amulet necklace coordinate with each other! The necklace contains an extender which can extend the hanging length of the necklace from 13″ to 15.75″.

I can’t tell you how excited I was to receive this Mata Traders’ Mosaic Oval Ring ($18) from India! Made from resin and gold-tone plated brass, I loved the ring’s bold colors and its size! It worked well on all of my fingers except my pinky.

I look forward to wearing this on my date nights this weekend!

The attractive blue and salmon pouch also contained a pair of metallic silver raw druzy earrings ($15 written on ticket; $8 online) by Adelyn Elaines.

Since I spend my days playing with small children, I tend to wear a lot of studs. I was thrilled to receive a pair in this month’s box. This pair of druzy earrings has a lot of sparkle and shine and will certainly add a lot of pizzazz to my daily wardrobe!

I loved my first box from Fashionabli! I’m excited to add such attractive pieces to my collection, all of which were made by women! I’m especially excited to be introduced to Mata Traders, a fair trade certified cooperative that brings living wages and ethical working environments to impoverished women in India and Pakistan.
