Comic Bento is a monthly comic book subscription service that delivers graphic novels and comics each month.  This is a great value as every month you’ll receive at least $50 in books.

133

Special care is given to each box.  To make keep the books from jostling about, Comic Bento uses bubble wrap and has all books packed together in plastic with cardboard to keep everything straight.

137

Four books from different publishers.  Comic Bento did well including some hot items to their offering this month.

143

Comic Bento includes a 2-sided card that gives you some insight into the books they sent.  They also give some backstory as to why they chose the books within the subscription box. This month’s theme is Animals!

145

Comic Bento is on the prowl with animals.  This is pretty cool as you get four different titles from all different publishers.

Homecoming: Volume 1 – Aspen Comics – $9.99.  Comic Bento brings an exclusive cover for this first volume which includes the talents of writer David Wohl and artists Emilio Laslo, Stefani Rennee and Mike Debalfo.

Nobody ever said being a teenager was easy… Just when you thought it was safe to go back to High School…Aspen Comics proudly presents an all-new series created by Michael Turner, Scott Lobdell and David Wohl. HOMECOMING! Hunter Wilson is just an average American teenager in an average American town, but when the beautiful and amnesiac Celeste arrives in his backyard, Hunter’s life will change forever. He discovers that Celeste had disappeared from that very house 10 years earlier, and now she’s back with little memory of who she was — but with strange, fantastic abilities and the knowledge that dark forces are rapidly approaching! Now, Hunter must help Celeste regain her memory while he tries to keep himself and his friends safe — and if that wasn’t difficult enough, Homecoming is just a week away and he doesn’t have a date to the dance yet!

XOC: Journey of the Great White – Oni Press –  $19.99.  Matt Dembicki crafts a tale of a travelling Great White Shark.

Xoc explores the ocean’s wonders through the eyes of a great white as it treks from the Farallon Islands off the coast of California to the warm waters of Hawaii some 2,300 miles away. Along its journey, the 17-foot shark encounters natural prey and predators — from skittish seals to brazen orcas — as well as man-made impediments that threaten not only the giant fish, but the balance of ocean’s ecology.

Sam & Fuzzy Fix Your Problem: Blind Ferret Edition – $25.00.  This is a big, thick book!  Sam Logan has an interesting book and there is plenty of story to read through.

Troubled by ninja mafiosos? Gangster gerbils? Vampire stalkers? Don’t worry! Sam and Fuzzy can fix your problem. Now, if only someone could fix theirs…

Jurassic Strike Force 5: Volume 1 – Zenescope – $9.99.  Dinosaurs with weapons?  Sign me up!  This is a really fun idea and I’m happy to see it reach  print.  Written by Neo Edmund with art by J.L. Giles-Rivera and Alfredo Reyes.

Backed by his army of evil, mutated Dino-soldiers, there’s nothing that can stop him….nothing but Jurassic Strike Force!

Squirtle Print.  The famous water Pokemon enjoying some time on the beach and reading an issue of Aquaman.

Comic Bento is such an awesome value!  All four of these books were packaged so well together and arrived in spectacular condition.  As stated earlier, there is a theme but there’s also a ton of variety, and the theming of this box is pretty unique amongst comic subscriptions. The curator’s notes really bring the theme together, and that made this box even more awesome!
