The Birchbox Limited Edition Cheers to You Box ($50) contains:

Umbra Birchbox Exclusive Ceramic Tray ($15?) Metallic gold trim, irregular black polkadots, and a wash of pink watercolor? Love this accent piece!

One of my favorite things about the Birchbox limited edition boxes this past year has been the Umbra home items!

Erno Laszlo Soothe & Calm Hydrogel Mask ($16) This gel mask is divine! It comes in 2 separate pieces (I think a first for me!) and is a really great gel (instead of a paper-based sheet mask).

It’s cooling and comforting but I wish they just stuck with the honeysuckle oil to soothe and calm – they added rose in for “texture” which was a bit smelly – but I’m sensitive to rose.  I totally love the 2-piece design though, it’s super awesome. My skin felt fantastic all night into the next day. I highly recommend giving this mask a shot!

Lighting Crew by The Beauty Crop  ($18) A great highlighter with a champagne tint. It includes antioxidants derived from pineapples and green tea. FYI – this is smaller than a tube of lipstick,  although it is still a full size product – you need very little!

REN Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist ($5.70) This mist is said to shield your face from the effects of pollution via the application of  biosaccharide gum. I expect in the years to come products like this will become far more prevalent than they are now. I love mists but I think I’d have to test this one out over a long period of time or see some lab results if I was going to buy it again.

Note – this sample has an aggressive sprayer. Hold at arm’s length!

Birchbox Limited Edition September 2016 111

I have 3 open tubes of this product, I couldn’t justify re-swatching it today, so here it is! I need to find other ways to use it – mixing it into your foundation always works, or in body lotion for an all-over glow!

Elizabeth Mott It’s So Big Volumizing Mascara ($15) The name is kinda raunchy but I like this mascara! It gives good volume and has a fun brush. It does tend to flake a bit but I don’t have any smudging issues with this one.I received a sample in my Birchbox in June, and another one this month, so I think I’m set on this brand.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain in Poppy or Sugar ($20) I love the formula of this beautiful lip stain, but unfortunately this pinkish coral isn’t going to work with my skin tone. swatch below. I love the non-matte formula of this stain, it is really creamy. Trying out this product makes me want this product in Dahlia.

Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Palette – Copper Peach ($12) An inexpensive brand (mostly seen at Target)! This palette ran the gamut of light peachy tones to dark rich copper browns.

birchbox-limited-edition-box-september-2016-10

I liked the creamy texture of the shadows.

birchbox-limited-edition-box-september-2016-11

The lighter shades weren’t very pigmented and required more than a few swipes to get any color.

birchbox-limited-edition-box-september-2016-12

My palette arrived in perfect condition. However, when applying the shadow the fourth one down got pulverized. It’s usable, but this product is only OK for me.

birchbox-limited-edition-box-september-2016-13

Ouai Wave Spray ($8.84) I felt like this spray gave some nice texture to my fine hair without weighing it down! This product is scented with Ouai No. 2 Fragrance, containing notes of Italian lemon, amber, and white musk. It goes on sticky but gives so much volume. I love this product.

birchbox-limited-edition-box-september-2016-14

R+Co Outer Space Flexible Hairspray ($6.90) I love the design on this bottle and want to marry it (or at least buy the full size!). It smells just as fantastic as all the other R+Co products I’ve used, plus it’s a great re-workable flexible hairspray. Love this product!

Bridgewater Candle Company Mingle Tin – Sweet Grace ($20) LOVE this candle! It’s described as “scent of sparkling tea mixed with passionfruit and classic patchouli” and it’s perfectly balanced. I love the scent of patchouli mixed properly, but not when it’s overbearing, and this was just delicious.

This candle is impressively large! Look how tiny the lid looks because it’s alllll the way down there.

Each candle purchase donates a portion to Rice Bowls to fight the global orphan crisis through its Light a Candle, Feed a Child program.

Birchbox “Hip Hip Hooray!” Card: The box also came with a little note card – perfect for regifting the box, or any of the items in it, or just as a fun congrats note!

I calculated a value of about $130 (Birchbox says $141). I think that’s fantastic for a $50 box, especially since I was able to use a coupon on the box – they’re so rare right now! Use COMEBACKMAN to save 15% (OR, grab a freebie in the bonus shop!)! I thought it was a pretty good box, although I wish I’d been able to select a lip shade, and that the quality of the Pixi palette was better. I’m afraid I’m now addicted to the face mask, it was just so great!

This is one of the best LE Birchboxes I’ve seen floating around – and yes, the galaxy packaging on that hairspray is awesome!
