Benevolent Beauty Box is a monthly cruelty-free beauty subscription that you can customize to your skin, hair, and eye color as well as your preference for neutral, bright, or a combo of colors. It includes 4-7 full-sized products with an emphasis on makeup but might also include skin care, hair care, or tools. It is $29.95 a month and every month $1 per box sold is donated to Humane Society International.

I received the June box and my colors weren’t personalized but luckily they were pretty neutral!

I received 5 products; 4 makeup items and one makeup brush.

Here’s everything in my box!

My Terre MèRe Matte Lipstick in the shade Someone Special ($39) arrived broken which is too bad because I like the shade! The above picture is what it looked like as soon as I opened it. I tried using it and it fell out of the container! The color is more on the cool side and lasted a decent amount of time on my lips.

The damage may have been due to having this box shipped to us from a third party, it’s hard to tell!

Mineral Hygienics Mineral Bronzer ($20) in Cool Kiss (others may receive Warm Kiss) is best for those with fair to light skin tones and goes on pretty sheer but can be built up. This multi-tasker can be used as a blush, eye shadow, or all-over booster or try mixing with lip balm for a customized gloss. Contains a sifter insert.

The Terre MèRe Bronzer Brush ($34) is made of synthetic hair and was very soft yet it picked up product and deposited it evenly! I used it to apply the mineral bronzer and tried it with blush and it worked well with both applications.

Here’s a close up of the brush.

Colour Switch by Saturated Colour (£8.10, or about $10.69) is a pure white lipstick that you apply to your lips as a base and then take one of your existing lipstick colors and apply over top and blend to get a totally different color! I used it with the Terre mère lipstick shown above and it made it a lighter, more pinkish color. The possibilities are only as limited as your lipstick collection.

Modern Minerals Eyeshadow In Surya ($12.50) is a bronze shadow with golden shimmer and is perfect for fall. I used this one all over my lid and will be using it extensively in the next few months. Contains a sifter inset.

Here are all of the colors swatched. From the top: bronzer, eyeshadow, lipstick, Colour Switch, lipstick with Colour Switch.

I was super impressed with my very first Benevolent Beauty Box! I love that the products are cruelty-free and in most cases are more natural than their mainstream counterparts. The colors go well together and the Colour Switch is fun and functional. Best of all, the products worked well! My June box was worth $116.19, and even with a busted lipstick the value was still very high. Based on pictures from their social media sites this box features almost entirely makeup products so if you are looking to increase your stock of makeup, cruelty-free or not, then I would heartily recommend this box.

I was really impressed with the Color Switch product. I have so many lipsticks that are not the right color for me this product might help.

I agree Virginia! I have a lot that don’t quite work for me so it will be fun to try it out and see if I can find some new favorites.
