BeautyFIX is a monthly subscription box from Dermstore that sends you the latest skin care, hair care, and makeup products for $24.95 a month (or $34.95 for a one-time purchase). They feature full and travel sized products and promise the box will contain at least $100 worth of items. Everyone receives the same products, although makeup colors or scents may differ, but at least you will know what you’re getting if you decide to purchase the box after you see the contents.

FYI – you can subscribe to BeautyFIX and receive this exact box – it’s usually available all the way through the end of the month!

My products were wrapped in tissue paper and there was a product information card on top. There were also some air pillow bags to keep the items from shifting.

All of the items in my box! I received 8 items this month, almost all of which are skin care. No makeup or hair products this month.

The product information card gave the item name, what it is used for, and a coupon code for a shop purchase. This month’s theme was “Beauty Basics 101”.

Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener ($6.72) went on smoothly and has the same silicone feel to it as other primers. I don’t know that it helped me look any brighter but it does contain white and green tea extracts for their antioxidant super powers.

LIFTLAB Skin Rejuvenation Purify + Clarify Daily Cleanser, Detox Mask, and Gentle Exfoliant ($14.77) is a foaming cleanser that gently exfoliates and is safe for sensitive skin. I thought it smelled like bar soap but other than that I liked it and it didn’t leave my skin feeling dry plus it removed all traces of face makeup.

Erno Laszlo Phelityl Cleansing Bar ($6.37?) is a facial bar soap that contains safflower seed oil and glycerin and is supposed to hydrate dry skin and repair the skin’s barrier. It lathered up very well and has a “classic” scent.

Patchology Flashpatch Lip Gels ($2.08) are similar to under-eye patches and have a cool gel feel to them and help to moisturize lips with green tea extract and niacinamide. I was hoping it would help me avoid the dreaded lipstick bleed but no luck. You only need 5 minutes with this patch so you can easily pop one on any time your lips feel parched.

NIA 24 Treatment Catalyst ($71) can be applied alone or mixed with your favorite moisturizer or serum. It has sunflower and sesame seed oils and felt very smooth with a bit of a natural nutty scent. It is supposed to help reverse signs of sun damage and hyperpigmentation and mixed easily with my current moisturizer.

DS Laboratories Spectral.Lash Eyelash Stimulator ($49) is a serum housed in what looks like a hypodermic needle and that you apply like eyeliner in the a.m. and p.m. It is supposed to be ok if it gets in your eyes but I disliked the feeling of it on my lids and it DID get in my eyes and while it didn’t burn it did feel weird. It’s supposed to take 4 weeks before any results show. For my second application I only clicked the dispenser once per eye but still had product get in my eyes.

The hypodermic look of it was kind of weird; I guess it’s supposed to look medicinal but to me it’s just creepy. It has a fuzzy tip at the end that you rub on your lash line.

Glytone Enhance Brightening Complex ($7) works to reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation by exfoliating skin with azelaic and glycolic acids. This is a small sample and isn’t enough to see any results but I feel like small samples are more for getting a feel of the item so users can see if they like the scent or texture. I didn’t notice any scent and it went on smoothly.

Danielle Creations Rose Gold Curved Tweezers ($7.99) Although cute I couldn’t get used to using these to pluck my eyebrows. The movement was unfamiliar to me but I bet my daughter will love them.

This month’s box contained 8 items (3 of them full-sized!) and was worth $164.93! My favorites this month are the NIA 24 Treatment and the LIFTLAB Cleanser and the other items will be quickly used up with the exception of the freaky eye serum.

I kept trying to pull off that fuzzy ball ( on the lash serum)….like the rubber piece that comes on a new pen. Then, I realized it was supposed to be on there. It does make for easy application and it’s soft. One click does both eyes. Only 3 days of use and I can already see a difference…so I’m pleased.
