Anime Bento August 2016 box

Anime Bento is a monthly subscription box for true anime fans! With this subscription you’ll receive Japanese toys, collectibles, and other swag from your favorite anime shows delivered straight to your door every month. Anime Bento is committed to sending only authentic products, too. Moe Chan, depicted on the cover of the box, is Anime Bento’s official mascot.

Moe Chan is a master chef and bento artist. You wouldn’t know it by looking at her saucy get-up, but she’s a sweet 16.

She enjoys watching comedic anime and is often caught doodling when she should be working.  Her dream is to one day open a great restaurant where food and art can be equally appreciated.  She attends the local high school and is popular with her class mates.  Moe has very close friends that she works with and always makes sure that they always have a good lunch to eat.  When she is not working at a maid cafe in Akihabara or going to school, she helps run the Social media sites for Anime Bento.

Anime Bento August 2016 review

Everything in my August box! This month’s Bento contained some pretty nice items- let’s jump right in!

Anime Bento August 2016 (1)

Back To School T-Shirt Moe and her friends are wearing the standard school uniforms that Japanese students traditionally wear. The girl on the left is wearing a seifuku style — which means ‘sailor uniform’ and you can see why! (Think Sailor Moon!)

Jojo’s Air Freshener Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure originated as a manga but became so popular it’s now an anime, video games, etc. It’s MASSIVE in terms of world — each part of the manga has its own huge cast of characters, both good and bad, but everything connects together. Each story features a member of the Joestar family, who all possess an ability to battle supernatural forces. I received Jotaro Kujo, who is the main character of the Stardust Crusaders arc but appears in others as well. It smells like strawberry! I hang these in my closets since I don’t have a car!

MOBA Legends Survival Tool MOBA Legends is a mobile game! It looks to be a standard RPG style arena battling game, but there are over a dozen unique characters which look really cute! I might have to give this one a download and try — included was a code for a $10 credit. The survival tool itself is really cool and is pretty sturdy. It has a keychain loop to keep it close by.

The game is available for iOS and Android!

Akame Ga Kill! Button Set Akame ga Kill is on my long list of series I need to start watching! The manga series (now an anime) revolves around the character Tatsumi who joins a group of assassins called Night Raid. It’s gotten great reviews and now airs on Adult Swim!

Anime Bento August 2016 (8)

My Hero Academia Manga Volume 1 I love that we were sent Volume 1! This collection of the first seven issues is read in the tradition right to left format, which is a bit weird at first if you’re new to it, but it becomes habit after a few pages.

The story is about a middle schooler named Izuku who lives in a world where superheroes are everywhere — each one having a power called a Quirk. But Izuku doesn’t have powers of his own, and longs for them. After he selflessly saves someone’s life without any powers, he is granted powers of his own and is invited to join a high school for superheroes!

Hokkaido Matcha Milk Candy These candies are smooth and creamy, made of Hokkaido milk and matcha powder. The flavour is a bit strong for me, since I’m not a huge green tea fan, but they’re nice!
