The August 1Up Box theme is Speed! 1 Up Box is a geek and gamer subscription box. They describe themselves as offering something remarkable, something creative, and something unique in which all geeks and gamers can fancy. Each month, receive 4-6 items including gear, snacks, toys, art, and just about anything that spells awesome.

J (age 8): I was like woah! I knew as soon as I saw it that it would be a cool box.
Here are the items in the August 1Up Box. Time to take a closer look!
PA Anna: Subscribers received one of five Yoshi’s ($12.99). J is happy to receive him because he loves plush toys.
T (age 17): Yellow Yoshi! There are a bunch of different colored Yoshis, and depending what game you’re playing they do different things. The original power of the Yellow Yoshi is to kick out a type of killer sand/clouds whenever you land in Super Mario World.
PA Anna: I am surprised that we are missing an item for the second month in the row.
T: We are missing the Golden Snitch necklace! These are fast little buggers used in the game of Quidditch in the Harry Potter world.
PA Anna: 1Up kindly sent us the necklace. We are using Brandy’s picture in the review.
PA Anna: J thinks the Hedgehog Patch is pretty cool. He loves Sonic!
T: Sonic! I’m not sure if they came up with this design of Sonic or not. But isn’t he adorable?
PA Anna: Flash is fast on this bracelet lanyard!
T: Flash! Looking fast as usual. I like how the design is on both the inside and the outside on the mini lanyard. Flash recently appeared in a scene of Suicide Squad and will appear in Justice League Part 1 (and 2, I hope).
PA Anna: The graphic is printed on a Gildan heavy cotton t-shirt. It feels soft.
J: My favorite thing about the shirt is that Pikachu is Flash.
T: Wow! J will love this. Arcanine (the one that looks like a tiger) is chasing Pikachu (who is wearing a Flash suit). I think Pikachu is holding a phone, but I’m not sure how that is relevant to the rest of the shirt (that would be why Arcanine is chasing him, but I hope it’s more then that.)
J: The 1Up Buddy is driving a Mario Cart. It’s pretty cool.
1Up Box did an excellent job with the August box. J thought the box was really cool and will be using everything except for the mini lanyard which T will be using. J’s favorite items are the shirt and Yoshi Plush. 1Up Box is a wonderful family geek/gamer box that can also be enjoyed by older fans.
