Mystery Honey Club is a delicious way to explore a new honey from a different apiary each month. 1% of each box sale and 5% of all other items in the shop are donated to the Planet Bee Foundation. The honey is purchased at a fair price from beekeepers in the USA.
Wild Hare Honey curates the Mystery Honey Club and offers a variety of beautiful honey and bee products.
The brown box in the first picture was packaged inside a larger white box. There are two extra items this month which will be explained further in the review. The honey is wrapped in kraft paper and tied with a string. The items were well protected in its journey to me.
Wild Hare Honey kindly included a bonus item as a thank you gift for helping them making the transition from CrateJoy to Shopify a success. Cratejoy is a software platform for subscription box businesses. Shopify is a platform that allows more functionality for eCommerce.
The July Apiary is Gaskins Apiaries Inc. I am always excited to see my farm life and subscription box life collide. The Gallberry Honey has been nominated for the Ark of Taste Slow Food. I am a member of Slow Food USA and am excited for them!
Here are the items from the July Mystery Honey Club. I can’t wait to try out the honey.
I am always excited to see Moon Valley Organics in a subscription box. The Herbal Lip Balm in Vanilla Lemon ($2.99) smells amazing. The rich lip balm has organic beeswax in it. I love the vanilla lemon scent. The lip balm was included as a thank you gift to subscribers for being there while Mystery Honey Club switched from Cratejoy to Shopify.
The Gallberry Honey by Gaskins Apiaries Inc. (16 oz, $9.99) is an amber colored honey which indicates a mild honey. The honey is produced in North Florida among the pine trees and swamplands. There the bees collect the nectar from the Gallberry Blossoms from late spring to early summer.
The honey was harvested in late spring 2016/early summer. The honey has a rich taste that reminded me of maple syrup! I researched the honey and found out it is indeed recommended for pancakes.
It is a beautiful honey with a light, sweet taste. I wanted to make pancakes and bake with it as soon as I tasted it which is exactly how this table honey is used. The Honey Dipper was included as a welcome gift for the first month subscription. Use it to move honey without spilling by twirling it in the honey. My 17 year old assisted me and ate the honey in the bowl before we made it back inside.
My family is happy with the July selection. We enjoyed trying out the Gallberry Honey which can only be found in Florida and Georgia and must be harvested between late April to early June. The mono-flower honey is a beautiful amber color with a sweet, mild taste beckoning me to bake with it. Mystery Honey Club a delicious subscription box for those that appreciate different honey taste notes!
