Mother: The Ultimate Gift Box is a new bimonthly subscription that sends care packages to new moms. Each $75 box contains 5-8 premium products whose combined retail value will exceed $100. Discounts are available for those who commit to longer subscriptions. In terms of curation, the folks behind Mother: The Ultimate Gift Box strive to include items that promote a mother’s self care as she learns to achieve balance between her commitments to her baby, family and career. You can expect boxes to include beauty, skincare, lifestyle and wellness products along with delicious treats and gifts for babies.

August’s box arrived full of surprises! They included kegel exercise balls, a probiotic, planner, lactation cookies, skin and haircare products and stones.

I like the focus on personal care this month. It’s too easy as a new mom to forget about yourself and focus all of your attention on your little one. I especially like the inclusion of the home bath scrub recipe! I can’t wait to try it out later this month.

I liked how Mother: The Ultimate Gift Box included a list of the box’s contents along with notes as to their importance.

Bloom’s Pink and Gold Bound To-Do Book ($13.95) is very attractive. It is the ideal planner for a stay at home mother whose schedule isn’t overburdened with appointments (i.e. me!). Although I’ve been using my phone to schedule appointments, I like the embedded to-do lists, shopping lists and exercise and dietary reminders in this planner. I look forward to using this!

Mother: The Ultimate Gift Box included a coupon code that subscribers can use to purchase more of these planners if they wish.

I was excited to receive Culturelle’s Pro-Well 3-in-1 Complete Formula ($19.99)! I love taking probiotics, but they’re so expensive that I usually just get them for my kids. I’m thrilled to receive some for me in this box!

I’m not the intended audience for these Crystal Programming Stones ($4.99), but I still think they’re pretty. I look forward to playing with these with my kids. Who knows? Perhaps they’ll help my daughter learn her colors!

Intifit Premier Living’s Premium Kegel Exercise Kit ($21.95) is intended to help new moms regain kegel strength after giving birth. I’ve known that I need to develop my kegel muscles more fully for some time now, and I look forward to using this kit to help me do just that.

The box included additional information about IntiFit and the kegel exercise kit.

Mother: The Ultimate Gift Box also included Deva Curl’s No-Poo Quick Cleanser and a bonus 3-step introductory curl kit ($4.48 based on the cost of 3 oz for the cleanser; roughly $5.50 for the introductory kit). Although these products look great for women with curls, my hair is long and straight. I’ll pass this along to a friend.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well Manna Kadar’s Sheer Glo Shimmer Lotion ($7.83 based on the cost for 1 oz) blended in on my arm! I could barely see it! This can be used alone or combined with a moisturizer to offer a subtle sheen.

I appreciated the inclusion of Bumpy Yummy’s Lactation Cookies ($4.80 based on the cost of 10) very much. When my daughter was younger, I had supply difficulties and looked high and low for edible lactation cookies. They’re hard to come by. But not these; these are tasty! Were I still breastfeeding, I would be thrilled with these and would go out in search of more.

As an added bonus, these cookies contain lots of probiotics and Omega-3s. Cool!

Overall, Mother: The Ultimate Gift Box included a number of thoughtful gifts that would be indispensable to many new mothers. I hope that as they continue to grow, they’ll find some sort of way to customize their boxes by communicating with subscribers about their interests and personal care needs. Still, I like what they’re trying to do: deliver products bimonthly to new mothers that promote their health and well-being.
