Hello Subscription may earn compensation via links in this post. Read the full disclosure

Beauteque offers two subscriptions featuring Asian beauty products delivered to your door monthly.  Products include makeup, skin care, body care, and more.  For $22 per month, your BB Bag comes with 6-8 full size products.  If you like masks, the Mask Maven subscription brings you 9-11 various masks monthly starting at $14.  The following is a review of the June BB Bag.

When I received this box, I wasn’t sure what it was.  There wasn’t a Beauteque label on the front.  Good thing, I didn’t dismiss it because this box is loaded with a bunch of goodies.  I spy with my little eye… the leaning tower of Pisa!

Everything in the July BB Bag.  This month’s theme is Passport:  Destination Beauty.  I’m a little disappointed – there wasn’t a note to explain this month’s theme.  BUT, I think the bag, itself, is telling the story.

The fold out card has information on each of the products and basic how to use directions.  Pricing for products varied across sites.  The prices listed are those of Beauteque.

beauteque deo

Milky Dress Deo, Essence Soft Armpit Cream ($17.99):  Use this after showering or shaving to brighten underarm skin darkened by frequent shaving.  This cream leaves skin with a downy finish and helps to reduce sweating and odor.  In all honesty, I don’t really have an issue with dark armpits since I stopped using antiperspirants.   However, I do have slight paranoia about underarm sweat and odor now that I use natural deodorants.  This had a nice clean scent and did leave my armpit soft.  I used this with my deodorant and noticed that it extended its effectiveness.  Does anyone else think it’s weird to be talking about armpits???

Brandy: No, I totally don’t. Do you use the stick kind or the gross kind you stick your fingers in? I wanna know what kind you use!

Light-Blocking Sleeping EyeMask ($5.00):  I feel that the $5 is a little inflated because this is the most basic sleeping mask.  It is made from breathable cotton to help you get some rest wherever you are.

Esfolio Moisture Soothing Gel – Pure Snail ($10.99):  Asians have been using snail secretion as a moisturizer for years.  The first time I tried snail mucin, I was a little skivved out until I remembered that I ate (and enjoyed) escargot.  Use this to combat sunburn and promote cell regeneration.  This gel has the same texture as aloe or bamboo gel.  It took a little while to absorb but did not leave a residue and left my skin soft.

Purpletale 5 Steps to Lovely Skin ($7.99):  I received this pack in June’s 3B box and ended up gifting it to a friend.  She absolutely loved it and couldn’t say enough.  This pack provides everything you need for a facial – cleanser, toner, moisturizers, and a sheet mask.  It is suitable for all skin types.

Inner Skin Soothing Cleansing Water ($12.00):  This cleansing water is free of alcohol, fragrance, and pigments.  It removes dirt and makeup while purifying pores and moisturizing skin.  The formula contains witch hazel, hyaluronic acid, collagen, and ceramides to balance and tone skin.  This did a good job removing my makeup after a day at work and didn’t leave my skin feeling tight.

Secret Key Chubby Jelly Lip Tint Pack ($8.00):  I have been wanting to try a peel-off lip tint pack for a while now and was excited to see this in my bag.  This goes on fairly thick and is a little hard to get an even coat.  It smelled like glue and didn’t taste too good either.  After 10-15 minutes, peel it off and your lips should be colored.  As you can see above, the orange color was faint and patchy on my lips.  It looked more like I had just finished a snocone.  For best results, you are advised to exfoliate first.  I wish I had heeded that tip.  When I peeled this off, it caught some chapped skin and really hurt.

beauteque bag

OMG!   I adore this BB bag.  The postmarks and iconic sites are getting my travel bug stirred up again.  Also, this is the first bag that I’ve received with the Beauteque logo on it.

The July Beauteque BB Bag  contained $62 worth of product.  I think the Deo,Essence is my favorite product next to the actual BB Bag.  What about you?  What was your must-have item from this bag?  Let me know by leaving a comment below.

On a Side Note:  Before trying any Asian cosmetic subscription, expect that most information on the package will be in the native language.  That said, more and more brands are including directions/ingredients in English, and information can also be found in English on the majority of brands’ websites (you may have to choose a brand’s global or US site).  Secondly, a large number of products focus on brightening or whitening the skin.  As a person of color, I have not seen my skin color change.  Instead, I’ve experienced that my skin tone gets evened out after prolonged use.  However, your results may be different.  And lastly, many products contain ingredients which are animal-derived, so these may not be an option if you are vegan.  You can also check out cosDNA.com to see if the ingredients for the product are listed there.
