Julep Beauty Box is Julep’s monthly subscription box — from nail polish to makeup to skincare, they cover everything but mostly focus on nails. It’s completely customizable — you can choose a pre-curated box or pick and choose what you like. You can skip your box or send it to a friend. There’s always a plethora of coupons as well, which is great.

The theme for this month’s box is Endless Summer. It’s all about summer and what better way to celebrate the best time of year in my opinion then with some fresh bold colors.

If you’re not a subscriber, you can get a free welcome box with a prepaid subscription (or 50% off if you choose a monthly subscription).  Get a savings of $5 per month if you prepay for 3 months!  Julep is skippable and giftable, so we recommend the longer term. Join by the 18th and you’ll be able to select your first box during the next selection period!

Julep is now CLOSED!

My August 2016 Julep Beauty Box Items

Julep No Excuses Sunscreen ($28)  A completely transparent, fast-absorbing face sunscreen in an essence-gel base that delivers Broad Spectrum SPF 40 protection from UVA/UVB rays.

This lightweight gel goes on smoothly and dries quickly to a satin finish, making it perfect to wear under makeup.

This item didn’t ship, and Julep sent out a $50 gift card to compensate. No complaints.

Wonder Maven Alysha ($14 -Vivid pansy holographic) in a purple hue was by far my favorite color. It was just a fun color to work with and it sticks out in a wonderful way. We think this was added to my box in compensation for the missing No Excuses – I was really lucky to have ordered it!

IMG_7566

The highlight of summer comes in the form of It Girl Adeline ($14 – Azalea blossom multidimensional shimmer). Pinks are a huge part of my life as I don’t think there is a prettier or more girlie color and this one did not disappoint.

Stephanie ($14 – Juicy cherry holographic), is the sassy classic with a twist, red in this month’s collection.

My August 2016 Julep Beauty Box Addons

In addition to the 3 items in my box, I added on 3 extra items so I could score the extra freebie! Two of my items were actually multi-item sets! They’re a good value!

IMG_7559

Addon: Julep Cleanup Tool ($14) This is seriously the best clean up tool I have ever used. It’s heavy duty and cleans off easily. It reminds me more of a screw driver than a nail tool but I think that’s what makes it so appealing and it will last for a long time.

Addon: Pink & Gold Daydreams: I ordered a set that included the Oxygen Nail Treatment, Ellis polish, and gold nail decals. Looks like the stickers were missing.

Take A Breather Oxygen Nail Treatment ($18) was a treat. Now they say there is a slight color to this treatment but I didn’t see any difference other than a shine to my nails. I like the idea of getting a little extra oxygen to my nails as I tend to keep them painted most of the time and that this helps them to stay healthy and strong.

Addon: Sunshine Sparkle: Eliza, Ellis, and Zori

This bright sparkly blue is called Eliza ($14 -Infinite ocean holographic) and is considered a bombshell.

IMG_7563

Liquid Holographic in Ellis ($14 -Pink dawn linear liquid holographic) is a Boho glam polish. This is a light weight polish that really held up all week.

IMG_7568

Sheer classic with a twist in Zori ($14 -Cotton candy holographic jelly) is beautiful. Either a few layers by itself or over another color, it’s beautiful no matter what.

IMG_7647

My little one couldn’t wait to be the hand model for this patriotic duo. I love that this red is subtle enough that a child could wear it because I have a fire engine red that I don’t deem child appropriate.

IMG_7570

Because of all the add ons there is a free gift, it’s It Girl Spencer ($14 – vintage gold chrome). I was very unsure of this color to start but it’s fun and flirty. I especially liked it with some sparkles over the top.

IMG_7645

My daughter may have gone a little bit funky but I love color and feel the more the merrier. So I experimented with a little of everything and really liked the final look. I also liked how these colors all go so well together.

IMG_2559

Grandma was not going to be left out of all the nail polish fun and loved this color. It looks great on all skin tones and just screams toes in the sand fun.

IMG_7571

As always Julep has made my nail polish wishes come true. Fantastic colors in bold, flirty and fun colors with great quality. I love that these polishes go on normally with one coat, there are no streaks and the color lasts all week. My other favorite part of Julep is that I have never had one of their colors stain my nails. I can’t wait to see what other fun color combinations I can come up with to add some sizzle to my summer nails.

I got all polishes except the Ta Da! Quick Dry Drops I swapped something else out for. I added on 3 things, one of which was a set, and 2 mystery polishes, so I have no idea which is the free gift this time. All I know for sure is the ones from my “official” box are Stephanie and Adeline. No idea which mystery polish is which, but what I ordered was the Sunshine Sparkle set, and the Seashell and Bright Rays mystery polishes. Since you got the Sunshine Sparkle set, I can identify Ellis and Eliza as being part of that, but I didn’t get Zori. So one of the other 4 must be a substitute for Zori, but no clue which one. The 4 are Brynn, Steph, Spencer and Alysha, and none of them resemble Zori in the slightest.

Oh, and the bonus candy this month was a problem – it apparently had a torn wrapper, so my box and the candy were full of little ants by the time I got it out of the mailbox! Not a good surprise.
