My Geek Box is a monthly subscription of geek goods shipped directly from the UK to your front door. Each month you’ll get a mystery box filled to the brim with geek gamer and retro gear, including a limited edition t-shirt in your chosen size. Every month they choose a different theme: from zombies, to superheroes, to video games and even your favourite films. It’s not only the theme which changes from month to month, either – each box is unique, filled with a fresh batch of awesomeness. Because it ships from the UK, shipping costs factor into the overall expense of the box.
Here is everything from the box.
Jupiter’s Legacy 2 #1 – Variant Cover – $3.99. This series written by Mark Millar is violent and definitely not for the kiddos! Jupiter’s Legacy 2 #1 is a continuation of Jupiter’s Legacy which was also written by Millar with beautifully violent artwork by Frank Quitely. The variant cover is by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld. You can read the review of the comic book itself here.
GEEK T-Shirt. This all black t-shirt has bit of a mash-up type of logo. It says GEEK but many video game fans will recognize that the font is the same as SEGA. Sega came along big time in the 1990s with their 16 bit system “Genesis” which had favorites like Altered Beast and Sonic the Hedgehog. Now I’m wishing this shirt would have really said SEGA.
Power Rangers Super Megaforce Mega Bloks SERIES 2 Micro Figure Blind Pack ($6.99). A random figure came in this package. I got a dual sword wielding Green Ranger. This is another property that was popular in the 1990s but has shown incredible staying power. Now, with a film in the works, 90s kids can still enjoy the Power Rangers and there will be an introduction to new audiences.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3-D Mug ($17.99). Raphael would have made a great addition to the collection if he weren’t broken inside the box. The box it came in seemed to be in rough shape and there is a bit of bubble wrap inside but that apparently did not matter. This guy’s broken and that is disappointing.
Super Mario Mini Figure Collection “Bowser” by Goldie ($12.99). Bowser is the villain from the original Super Mario Bros. video game and he’s been around to torment the little plumber and his friends ever since. Bowser appears in a bunch of the Super Mario games including Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart and more.
This box was a nice surprise. I liked receiving Bowser and the comic book especially but there were disappointments as well (broken TMNT mug). They are worth checking out however as there are some excellent items that come your way.
