Fit Lifestyle Box is a monthly subscription box that promises to send handpicked health and fitness items according to your gender and your goal — either Get Strong, Stay Fit, or Get Lean.  As the website explains, Get Strong products include products, snacks, and samples that benefit you when you’re trying to “get strong, build muscle, and be a  meaner machine than you already are.”  Get Lean boxes will include “fat burners, lean snacks, and all the essentials you need for weight loss.”  And Stay Fit boxes include a little bit of each of the other boxes.  Fit Lifestyle Box costs $20/month, regardless of which box you choose.

Here’s what I saw when I opened the box – lots of fun stuff in here.

And a look at everything in the box.  Regardless of the box you choose, Fit Lifestyle Box promises to send a few samples (e.g., protein powder, pre-workout supplements, fat burners, etc.), a couple snacks (e.g., protein chips, bars, cookies, jerky, etc.), and a full sized product (e.g., jump rope, t-shirt, resistant bands, shaker bottle, etc.).

There was a little brochure in the box with a store coupon code.

Each month, the brochure will include an article and a healthy recipe…

And a workout.   Let’s see what was in this month’s box.

Outrage Extreme Pre-workout Igniter ($3.49). This sample is a single serve of a supplement that is designed to provide a rush of energy and focus to fuel your workout.

Activate Pre-workout Supplement. This is sample is also a single serve of a supplement.  This supplement is a blend of caffeine and theanine, among other ingredients, to improve mental and physical performance.  Theanine is supposed to decrease some of the more negative aspects of caffeine, including jitters and anxiety.  One thing I found interesting about this particular sample is that Activate is very transparent about its ingredients – no “proprietary blend” as is common in so many supplements.

Lenny & Larry’s Complete Cookie ($1.03).  This snack is a cookie that has no eggs, no dairy, no soy, etc. but is loaded with protein and fiber.  And even better it tastes like a cookie!  It is just chewy enough and sweet enough to be a very satisfying snack.  I’m going to have to try some of the other flavors of these cookies!

Snack – Oh Yeah One Bar ($2.33).  This snack is a bar with lots of protein but very little sugar and relatively fewer calories than other protein bars of this size.  The bar in my box was chocolate brownie – unlike the cookie above, I’m not going to tell you it tastes like a brownie.  Nonetheless, it was a very pleasant tasting protein bar.

Full-Size Item – T-Shirt:  One fun surprise about Fit Lifestyle Box is that it will include a full-size item.  When you subscribe, they ask for your t-shirt size in case the full-size item is a shirt…and this month it was.  This is a nice heavy-weight t-shirt with a good motivational saying:  Start Today Not Tomorrow.  It’s too heavy and unbreathable to wear to workout in this weather, but it’s a nice shirt to wear to and from the gym, etc.

Sixpack Shortcuts Complete Set. This is a 4-DVD workout program consisting of weight lifting exercises combined with high intensity body weight cardio.  I don’t typically do DVD workouts – it doesn’t fit into my training routine and I’m not really looking for six pack abs – so I can’t tell you much more about this.  However, this is probably an item that would appeal to many folks that would enjoy this box generally.

Additional Items – key ring and rubber bracelet:  Finally, Fit Lifestyle Box included a key ring and a rubber bracelet with the box’s logo on them.  Honestly, I’m going to make good use of the key ring, since I can fit it around my wrist during a workout and keep my keys handy.

With a mix of samples and snacks, and the surprise full-size item, Fit Lifestyle Box is a good “fit” for athletes, gym-goers, and other people who are into health and fitness.  The samples are nice, especially as they give you a chance to try supplements before buying a larger supply…and who doesn’t love healthy snacks.  I like getting to try new flavors and makers of bars and other post-workout treats, which is another fun thing about boxes like this.
