Put A Bow On It showed up in the subscription box scene kind of like a ninja — nobody knew it even existed until a couple months ago, and suddenly everyone was talking about it. With other Canadian lifestyle boxes already well-known, that this one gained such a following in a short time is really exciting! This box only ships to Canada at this time, and shipping is free. July’s box was shipped out end of June, as Canada Post is calling for a lockout and mail service will be suspended. Not fun, but I’m sure all the subscribers appreciated the care taken to ensure we got our July boxes.
The packaging is so pretty! Every month has different wrapping; it really does feel like you’re opening a gift just for you! The hot pink and black colour scheme reminds me of my favourite designer, Kate Spade! Put a Bow on It has featured Kate Spade in their boxes before, but I haven’t gotten lucky yet.
There are 2 plans – Deluxe ($36 CAD) and Premium ($59.99 CAD). There is a $10 shipping charge. This is the Premium box!
The inner box is printed as well!
Even the ribbon is printed with the box’s name. They used to include an envelope with my name handwritten on it containing the product card, but it looks like they have switched things up!
July’s theme is Put Your Best Foot Forward — I literally just went for a pedicure on Sunday, because it’s flip flop weather and my feet needed some love.
The new style information card opens up to reveal the contents.
The first thing I made a beeline for were the Kate Spade Sock Liners! Finally! I can’t find the price for these exact styles, but since a three-pack sells for $32 USD/$40 CAD on the official website, I’d value these at around $27 CAD for the pair of two. We were also sent the Deep Moisturising Foot Mask ($15 USD/$20 CAD for a set of 4, so approximately $5 CAD each) which I’m excited to try — it’s like a sheet mask sock you wrap your feet in and wear for 30-60 minutes.
Okay, am I the only person who is a bit freaked out by these electronic buffing roller things? I’m sure they work great, but I prefer using good old fashioned manpower and a pumice stone. The Danielle Pedi Pro ($17 CAD) includes two roller heads as well as a cleaning brush.
The All About Feet Peppermint Foot Cream ($11.00 CAD) smells amazing, and has almond oil in it to soothe feet. I like the pump dispenser (versus being a squeeze tube). And to top off your perfect pedicure, subscribers were sent an Orly polish — mine is Oh Cabana Boy ($4 USD/$5 CAD) and it’s a neon pink with purple shimmer. It’s absolutely gorgeous and the perfect summer colour! I’m rocking blue on my toes right now, but I think I’ll do my next mani in this fantastic pink.
July’s box had a total value of $60 CAD, give or take depending on exchange rate and retail prices. I liked the cohesiveness of the theme — it was a nice spin off on a typical summer box. I’m especially happy to finally get something Kate Spade, and I love the polish and foot mask.
