Lootaku is a monthly geek subscription box from Hong Kong that brings high-quality geek and gamer items. The subscription costs $49.00 per month + shipping (currently about $17 to the US), and you’ll get 4-6 themed products, like plushies, action figures, memorabilia, etc., to satisfy your geeky cravings monthly – no fillers or promo items!
I like how the outside of the box is beautifully designed. A Chest – Full of Loot!
The items are neatly packed inside.
The information card shows the details about each item. The theme for June is Loot Table Dragon Ball 30th Anniversary! The item information card is thick and glossy, very detailed. When there are variations it typically lists each possible variation!
All the goodies inside my July Lootaku Box! FYI our reviewer Sara contributed substantially to this review. Unfortunately I know little about the Dragon Ball Z franchise besides the main characters. If you’re also unfamiliar, Sara notes:
Dragon Ball Z is the continuation of the original Dragon Ball series and centers around Goku in his adult life. He and his friends fight to defend the Earth from enemies that want to conquer it, and always, while keeping an eye out for the fabled Dragon Balls!
It’s one of the most massive gaming and anime hits of all time!
Best of Anime Series 2 Mystery Minis ($8 retail): It’s Light from Death Note and an excellent likeness!
You could have received one of any of these from One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Death Note, or Bleach!
Dragon Ball Keychain: Can you get your friends together and summon Shrenron? You need all 7 Dragon Balls! While the information card listed this as a $10 value, I found it on ebay for $3.58.
Mine has 6 stars!
Dragon Ball Z 66 Action Trading Figures ($9.49) “66 Action” because it’s 66mm tall (2.58 inches). Totally articulated and really fun – it’s also Sara’s favorite Dragon Ball Z character, Vegeta! Subscribers could have also received Goku, Gohan, or Trunks!
Like many Japanese toys, he arrived decapitated.
I had to recapitate it immediately before moving further, I found it disturbing!
Tada! I love how it comes with storage for the hands!
Dragon Ball Z Goku Cap: The kanji means wisdom or enlightenment and is pronounced ‘Go’. It is frequently worn by one of the main characters, Goku! The card lists the value as $15. I found it on eBay for $8.99. It has no tags or other licensing information and is probably not licensed.
Whoops! Once Sara got this in her hands she realized the kanji on the hat is incorrect. She pulled up the proper one on the computer.
And the back says DragonBall Z!
Goku Heat Changing Mug Previews Exclusive ($17) I found the non-exclusive mug on Amazon for $15, so I think the value is right. Subscribers received either Goku or Majin Vegeta powering up in their Super Saiyan form.
So. Much. Power!
I think this side is awesome!! Handwash only!
Master Stars Piece Figure – The Son Gohan (Special Color) ($30) This guy is so hardcore – and this is an awesome item to commemorate Dragon Ball’s 30th! Banpresto’s Master Stars Piece line makes highly detailed figures and subscribers got either this one – Goku’s transofrmation into Super Saiyan 2 during the battle with Perfect Cell, or Gotenks from Dragon Ball Super.
More decapitation!
But this is one rad figure!
Aquanet has NOTHING on Goku!
Birthday present checked off my list! When you get a lot of geek boxes sometimes you get items from a franchise that’s not “yours” – it’s ok, share the love! The total value of the box was about $77. I thought the cheap eBayish items were disappointing but overall it was a good haul for Dragon Ball fans – they just need to lose the unlicensed gear.
The August Box is Dragon Ball X One Piece X Naruto!
