Kids Prize Pack is a fun kids’ subscription box that centers its theme around books, toys, and activities each month. There are four age categories: Boys ages 4-8, Girls ages 4-8, Boys ages 9-12, Girls ages 9-12. The boxes range from early readers to chapter books along with age appropriate toys and collectibles.
J, my 7-year-old, and I will be reviewing the boys ages 4-8 box. J is excited to see Hot Wheels!
June’s box is all about heroes and villains.
The June 2016 theme is Capes & Charms. J wants to play with the Hot Wheels.

The back has a reader’s pledge and a seek and find. Fun!
J loved the two-sided comic!
Kids Prize Pack surprised me again with the June’s selection. We received the Buzz Boy and Fly Guy by Tedd Arnold ($5.71) which has illustrations that ignite a boy’s imagination. J and I went on a Tedd Arnold reading spree back when we received Fly Guy and the Frankenfly in the October 2015 box. I don’t think it will have a large impact on subscribers because the October box was the second box.
The book is a great choice for ages 4-8 and is written on a preschool-grade 3 level. J was slightly disappointed because he read all the books listed on the back cover. He was looking forward to discovering a new Kids Prize Pack book.
J plans to have the Play-Doh Can-Heads Captain America & Iron Man ($5.99) to battle against the Star War Can-Heads that he received in the December Kids Prize Pack. Avengers against Star Wars – how long before that becomes a movie?
The Marvel Avengers Flashlight ($12.99) has Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man and Thor on it. J tried it our right away because it came with batteries! It’s a regular flashlight that also has a button that you can hold down for a couple of seconds.
The Superman Play Pack Grab & Go ($1.00-$3.00) is a great item to keep J busy in the car. Superman and stickers!
I want to keep the Hot Wheels The Penguin Car ($4.94). It reminds me of when the Caped Crusader movies were fun and not so serious. J loved the car.
While I was disappointed that we received Superman instead of Batman, J was not. The Hot Wheels SuperMan and Metropolis PD Police Car ($9.97) were a hit with J. He loved both Hot Wheels cars and played with them right away.
J loved the June Kids Prize Pack because of the superhero items. However, it did not meet my expectations this month. I believe it is reasonable to expect that a parent or a child will seek out additional books by the author presented by Kids Prize Pack. June is the second time that featured a repeat author. J will be eight soon and is outgrowing some of the items that are included in the Kids Prize Pack ages 4-8 along with the easy reader books.
Overall, the items are right on track for the age group. J looks forward to reading the book every month and playing. The items included have always tapped into his imagination which he has in abundance. Kids Prize Pack has stayed true to their theme, “Fun through Literacy and Imagination!”
