Norsebox is a quarterly subscription box that brings handpicked Scandinavian-influenced household wares made by known designers. The subscription costs $54.00 per quarter + $15 shipping, and each box follows a seasonal theme. You’ll get 1-5 lifestyle and home goods that are valued for more than $70.
The items are carefully wrapped inside to make sure nothing breaks during delivery. I thought the astroturf was very funny! Also, I was a little afraid that it was an actual item – but it was just some wrapping and box decor.
The theme for this box is Summer Retro 2016. The box included a contest card to fill out and tag Norsebox on social media!
The information card shows the item details, as well as a discount code for your next purchase on their website.
Everything in my Summer 2016 Norsebox!
Almedahls Persons Kryddskap Chopping Board ($40) A black and white version of the original design by Astrid Sampe. This design is now 60 years old (below)! I’m not sure if I can possibly bear to actually chop on this board (maybe the back!). It’s about 12×8 inches and I think it might go perfectly on the wall to help cover over where I just patched up the old telephone jack (yes, I totally just covered it over, who needs it?!).
The cutting board is made in Sweden and bears Astrid Sampe’s signature. I love that this design house (designhaus?) has been going strong for 170 years!
Almedahls Sill Tea Towel ($19) The information card says the pattern is of paramount importance in Scandinavian design, and I’d have to agree – it’s been repeated and copied so many times! The Sill pattern was created by Marianne Nillsson in 1955.
Hello fishies, I love you! This is a great high-quality towel and so fun and bold! The towel is 55% linen and 45% cotton and about 16.5×28 inches.
I loved these two items – and I was also a little fascinated that they were both designed by women!
Iittala Ultima Thule Cocktail Glasses ($60) Designed by Tapio Wirkkala and inspired by the melting ice of Lapland, these glasses are absolutely stunning.
He’s not smoking (I think!) – he’s blowing glass!
These glasses are absolutely beauties – a pleasure to hold with the slight curve inward, well-textured, and with adorable knobs on the bottom. I love the frosted pane look of them and they are totally stunning.
You can just imagine the ice bubbling back at you.
Every glass is made in a wooden mold and blown and is also dishwasher safe!
I was totally impressed with this box! I loved the items (with a house full of retro teak furniture I’m pretty partial to Scandinavian design!) and the styles. The value was also great – $119! Note that my total value is based on the item prices including the shipping from the same Swedish store. You can take $19 off if you want to exclude shipping entirely.
What did you think of Norsebox? I’m already looking forward to the Fall box (after I thoroughly enjoy my summer items!).

Nice items. I like the glasses with the “legs”. I wonder if it keeps from sweating. I haven’t found a coaster yet that works on sweating glasses and I have tried many over the years.
I don’t think so but I dont remember. I did have my glass on a felted coaster. The answer is my husband needs to fix me another drink!!
