Here’s everything appearing in the June 2016 Taste Club Snack Boxes, although we’re not sure about the sizes of the items:

Cherry Pecan Nut Butter Bar

I love a good healthy snack that doesn’t taste overly healthy which is exactly what this exquisite nut butter bar is! There are so many nutritious bars out there that compromise taste to promote health or energy and they end up tasting like sticks of cardboard and have so many preservatives and added artificial flavoring to them they end up not being good for you anyway. This cherry pecan bar is the opposite of that – it tastes unhealthy but it isn’t. The fiber and protein make it perfect for post-workouts or if working out isn’t your really your thing (me) it will simply add a little happiness in your day when the craving for a scrumptious snack creeps up on you.

White Sonora Crackers

Crackers are probably one of my most favorite snacks on the planet and, as any cracker-loving snacker knows, the plethora of different flavors, brands and twists on this crunchy treat is not to be missed. There are fancy crackers, salty and sweet crackers, animal shaped crackers, infused with anything and everything crackers…. Yada yada yada. So, what a lovely thing for someone like me to come across such a natural and timeless cracker that just is what it is. Nothing added only to make it more exciting, no salt to bloat you when you have too many (fact, tested), just a simple old-fashioned, down home handcrafted cracker that makes me happy. And happier even more when I put some creamy goat cheese on it or dip it into some hummus or Parmesan tapenade!

Oatmeal Cookie Caramel Corn

I dare you to stop at a handful! I’m not even crazy about caramel corn but these were honestly outstanding. They are so crunchy and sweet and so not what I expected. I’m not crazy about oatmeal cookies either so it’s admittedly odd how much I love these, but the taste is so unique and satisfying I couldn’t stop eating them once I started. They’re like scooping up a handful of oatmeal cookies but without the part that makes me dislike oatmeal cookies, which are the raisins. I am a fan of the decision the artisan made to leave those out because the cinnamon and the caramel allow just enough sweet to satisfy and raisins tend to over-sweeten things. I say, kick the Oreo’s and eat these (by the dozen) with a large glass of milk. It will not disappoint but you might find yourself in a predicament once they’re gone.

Root Beer Caramels

These root beer caramels are fun! They’re reminiscent of my childhood when my Dad would make me and my brother and sister root beer floats at our summer pool parties. I’ve tried many flavored caramels and I think these are the most alluring one’s I’ve come across. The syrupy coating gives them a sticky-smooth and creamy deliciousness and I’ve never tasted anything quite like it. There’s definitely a strong root beer flavor so if you’re not a huge fan of root beer (I won’t judge you but come on, best soda ever) then these probably aren’t for you. But if you’re a root beer lover like I am you will find these little golden guys to be a truly favorable treat.

Lemon Artichoke Pesto

You don’t need a spoon for this because you’re going to want to just lick the jar clean. Seriously. This pesto is so creamy and delicious you don’t need to add anything to it at all. But, if you’re more civilized than I am and don’t eat things straight from the jar, there are so many magnificent things you can do to make it even more scrumptious. You can add it to minestrone soup for a creamier broth and flavor or toss it with some linguini and capers to make a savory pasta dish. I’m a big fan of simplicity so just spreading it on some salt and pepper crackers for a lip-smacking snack is what I love to do most with it. It’s a really great option for quick delicious meals if you don’t have a whole bunch of time to cook.

Roasted Chickpeas

I grew up on garbanzo beans – which I guess people are calling chickpeas now – so I am overjoyed by the fact that roasted chickpeas seem to be gaining some popular ground in the foodie world. I have attempted to make my own roasted chickpeas in the past but to be perfectly honest it takes too much time. You have to peel them and soak them overnight and boil them and refrigerate them and bake them and by the time they are done I’m not hungry anymore because I’ve eaten everything else in my kitchen. So, naturally, I am ecstatic about these ready-to eat roasted chickpeas that are crunchy and salty and taste like tiny little nuggets of yummy. They’re full of fiber and protein, too, which is just an added bonus to that taste that really hits the spot.
