The Hippie Hobby is a bi-monthly craft subscription box. In every box you’ll receive a complete crafting kit, which incorporates recycled, upcycled, or natural elements (the “Hippie” part!). Every box also includes a surprise DIY craft project with an upcycled, recycled or natural twist!
The first look and I was happy again this month. The pink is really bright this month and as always I love the burlap wrap that keeps everything all put together.
The information sheet is a folded paper and the front has a great picture of the products included.
The craft for this box are Herbal Bath Teas! The information card provided the instructions for the craft and was full color with complete instructions. The printing on this is high quality.
All of the supplies for the teas. I’m currently a bit obsessed with baths so I can’t wait to try these out myself.
First up was to dump out all the ingredients in a bowl. Normally I would have just dumped them in but I loved the picture on the instruction sheet so I had to try and recreate it. Yes I know dorky but it made me smile.
Then I had my little helper stirred everything up for me.
We then put the mixture into the tea bags.
Here is an almost finished bag. Once they were filled we ironed them to seal the tops and then Hippie Hobby suggested we could sew a pattern across the top. Well I got started and then decided that these are for me so I don’t really need to sew them up cute. I do love the touch and if I was giving them out as birthday gifts or teachers gifts or something it would be a fun addition.
The extra craft this month are envelopes for the tea bags. Since I was keeping them for myself I don’t really need the envelopes but since I love papercrafting I decided to give it a shot.
This project was also easy and they had printed the pattern on the back of the paper so that you could just cut, fold and glue. The envelopes were a great size to hold the tea bags.
So here is my one issue with the extra craft. The paper is really pretty but I cut it out as the pattern shows and when folded it up and if I was to seal it the single butterfly would have been upside down. I think the pattern should have been flipped on the paper so that the three butterflies on the bottom would have been folded correctly on the envelope. Just a thought and I might mix it up if/when I make the rest of the envelopes.
This was another fun craft this month. With my obsession with baths it is great for me but it would also make great teacher gifts or girlfriend gifts if you wanted to pass them out.
