Herb Stop Aroma Subscription Box Review & Coupon – May 2016

Herb Stop is a locally owned small business out of Pine, Arizona that offers a monthly Essential Oils Subscription Box.  Master Herbalists Leilah Breitler and Natalie Hajdu strive to ensure that all their ingredients come from reliable and ethical sources.  Love that!  And, all their essential oils are 100% pure.

Everything came carefully packaged in paper crinkles and bubble wrap.  The bubble wrap is not in the picture because my children are off camera fighting over it.  You would think that stuff was solid gold.

For the phenomenal price of $19.99 (including shipping!!!!) you get 4 bottles of essential oils(1/3 oz or 1/6 oz each), essential oil blends or roll-on essential oil  blends.  Along with your aromas, you will receive a description of each oil, 3 tips on using each oil, as well as any safety information.  Seriously, it’s just $19.99 for all of this!

Introducing this month’s oils.  Tangerine (yummy!), Tummy Soothe roll-on, Coriander (wanted this forever), and Black Pepper.

This card stock sheet gives you a detailed description of each of the oils.

Each oil is described and then it gives you an aromatherapy tip, a tip from Leilah (the Master Herbalist), a tip from Natalie (the other Master Herbalist), and any safety precautions.  There is a nice color picture of each herb and the details are easy enough for the newest essential oil enthusiast to under stand (I’m referring to myself here).  They have also listed the price for the full size versions of this month oils.

Black Pepper Essential Oil was in the box.  Pepper has oil?  Yeah, I didn’t know either……  But, here it is.  The sheet says that they steam distill it from the pepper fruit.  The full size version (1/3 oz) is $16.85.  (The one in the subscription box is 1/6 oz.)  The info sheet tell us a little about this oil.  “This spicy and warm essential oil has been used for a variety of ailments – from earaches to poor circulation.  It is often added to massage oils for muscle pain and stiffness.  Black Pepper makes a splash in this month’s Aroma Box because it’s use in supporting healthy digestive function, including symptoms associated with nausea, loss of appetite, pain, constipation, and sluggish digestion.  This oil is also used for individuals who feel emotionally cold and disconnected from others.”  So, if this oil helps that last thing……..  this introvert could totally use some!   If it works I will let you know, if it doesn’t I will be hiding in my house and not talking to people.

I might have been a little excited when I pulled this Coriander oil out of the box, because of this study that showed some excellent medical results.  I have always wanted to try it, but never gotten around to purchasing any.  The full size of this oil (1/2 oz) is $11.10.  You get a 1/3 oz bottle in the box.  The info sheet says the following about this oil:  “The mellow scented Coriander has been used throughout history for it’s digestive benefits as well as for pain and stress.  Coriander has earned a spot in this month’s Aroma Box because of it’s benefits in stimulating digestion, and aiding digestive discomfort due to nausea, indigestion, upset stomach, stomach cramps and gas.”  The aromatherapy tip from the sheet suggests combining it with the next oil, tangerine, blending it with your favorite lotion, and applying to your wrists for a boost of confidence.

Orange oil has long been one of my favorite oils (I would put a couple drops in some simmering water on the stove.  It smells wonderful!).  This Tangerine Oil is citrusy and refreshing.  It really smells like you just peeled a tangerine. You get a 1/3 oz bottle in the box (full size is 1/2oz for $7.80).  The scoop from the info sheet is….  “The powerful and uplifting scent of Tangerine evokes feelings of happiness.  One tiny whiff brings a smile.  Tangerine appears in this month’s Aroma Box because it has been used to aid and stimulate digestive function and is excellent for the feeling of food being “stuck” in the stomach.  While this oil is stimulating, it also has a calming effect and can be used during times of worry and anxiousness.”  I liked Leilah’s Tip for this one.  “Mix 3-5 drops of Tangerine to your homemade bathroom cleaner for a fresh and clean scent.”

The last bit of oily wonderfulness in the box was this Tummy Soothe Roll-On.  This retails for $12.95 on their site.  This is a blend of oils (ginger, coriander, anise, fennel, lemon, cardamom, caraway, chamomile, black pepper, peppermint and nutmeg) with 100% Jojoba Oil in a convenient roll-on.  The sheet says, “Tummy Soothe blend was blended with all digestive complaints in mind.  This soothing formula has a very neutral scent that can be used any time.  Try this blend for constipation, gas, bloating, indigestion, heartburn, pain and discomfort. ”
