Gable Lane Restful Retreat Crates Boys Bedroom Box June 2016 box

Gable Lane Crates is a monthly subscription box dedicated to make your home decor shopping easier. If your decor veers towards rustic, cottage, farmhouse, urban or vintage, you’ll definitely enjoy opening this box every month.
The subscription is a little hard to grasp – here’s how it works:

  1. Gable Lane pre-announces the box themes. There are two every month, plus special edition boxes.
  2. Sign up for one crate during the announced sale period, or a three box series. (If you can stand it, I recommend waiting for spoilers because if you buy in advance all you have is the name of the box to go on).
  3. Your box will ship during the month you bought it for.

There are two sizes of box –  $49.95 per month for the original and $89.95 for the exclusive. You’ll get a box filled with home accessories and decor to liven up the rooms of your house.

Everything in the Boys’ Bedroom box!

Creative Co-Op Cast Iron Left and Right Arrow Wall Plaques: I’m not sure that I get it. Is it supposed to be like a game controller pad? Why would I screw these into my wall? Someone please explain?

Primitives by Kathy “Make More Adventures” Throw Pillow: This was the spoiler item, which I snapped up for our fun adventure room (which is really being fueled along by Gable Lane Crates purchases!).

I wish the tag had been sewn onto the manufacturer’s tag instead of the pillow seam!Gable Lane Restful Retreat Crates Boys Bedroom Box June 2016 (6)

Ragon House Harrison Oval Metal Basket: I’m thinking this might be just a little too farmhouse for the average boy room, but will go nicely on our floor (where it can’t scratch anything) for collecting balls or toys.

Creative Co-Op “Odds & Ends” Ceramic Jar with Bamboo Lid ($16.99) This is really cute – and like all little kids, little boys need a place to collect the doo-dads they seem to gather. It’s also microwave/dishwasher and oven safe.

Creative Co-Op Memo Board: This stands up or hangs, and the trend right now is to have a decorative clip board to hang up a print or photo on the wall. This is cute, but much more likely to find a home in my daughter’s room than my son’s!

Unlike the girls’ box I wasn’t able to do a valuation, but I expect that it was pretty similar (that one was around $88). For our adventure room I thought it was a great box, but I wouldn’t use many of these items in our boys’ bedroom because it doesn’t match that style (but again, didn’t buy it for that!). I think this was a great box for any bedroom (boy or girl!) with a fun adventure theme!  This box could have been easily labeled kids – adventurous box and the girls’ could have been kids – imaginative box. But good to know for the future, neither box was super gendered! See our review of the girl’s bedroom crate here.

I think the arrows would just go on a feature wall. Since they are smallish they could work in about anywhere. At least that is what I would think. Of course you could also put then on the wall above the hamper so that they will maybe put there clothes in the hamper. That never happens at my house but it is a dream of mine. LOL

lucky me, i got a console table for the hallway and one hamper for each kid to go under. the arrows might go… in the garage??

Oh nice. We have a hamper in the hallway but clothes seem to have trouble making it in there. LOL I’m not sure how they can get right next to the hamper but not make it in 😉
