Boxwalla is a new bi-monthly subscription. It’s a bit unusual that you can select from one of four themes – natural beauty, artisanal food, international film, or books! In Boxwalla you’ll be able to discover great artisans and artists from across the globe. The Boxwalla Beauty Box contains non-toxic and cruelty-free products sourced from artisans in the US.
The packaging for this box is absolutely gorgeous. The box itself is sort of like a luxe cotton rag paper covered box handcrafted by artisans in Rajasthan, India (none of whom are children). The outside indicates which box you received. I love how the box itself supports socially and environmentally conscious goals.
The information card is a letter from “The Drunken Boxwallas” (the content didn’t indicate why they are drunk!) detailing each of the products. The theme for this box is Wandering Woman!
Green beauty products often get the bad rap of being boring & ineffective. The Beauty Box challenges that notion and lets you experience the most effective and nutrient-rich beauty products we have experienced. Always cruelty-free.
This June, we start our Wandering Woman series. The Wandering Woman travels and gathers secrets from all over the world. What will she take with her and what secrets will she bring back? Find out in the June Box!
And the items themselves are sealed up with a cute sticker.
Everything in the June-July Boxwalla Beauty Box!
Gressa Lumiere in Elise ($28) This is a “serum pigment” and it’s kind of like a liquid lipgloss that you squirt out. It’s also highly pigmented!
Even though I clearly dispensed too much this is a cool product – the broccoli seed oil helps moisturize your skin without feeling greasy, and you can see that this product can be used as gloss or cheek tint. And also – the bottle will last forever.
Henne Organics Rose Diamonds Lip Exfoliator ($24) I have only tried this brand once before so I was happy to see it show up in this box! This lip exfoliator is rose-scented and it’s great to use prior to the pigment serum. It’s also a certified organic product that contains aronia berry, which adds the pink tint to the product and antioxidants and polyphenols to your lips!
I loved the little tape on this jar – I could barely bring myself to remove it.
Rachel’s Plan Bee Original Bee Cream ($6) This travel size non-liquid balm fits the wandering woman theme perfectly – it’s made to patch up dry spots on the go. And it smells yummy!
Rachel’s Plan Bee Body Polish ($20) A huge full size body polish with organic sugar, Moroccan lava clay, and African shea butter!
I do love the designs for this brand!
It has a nice orangey grapefruit scent – super yummy! The card explains that the rhassoul clay is rich in minerals with high adsorption power. I have to say that I have never seen an explanation of how clays work scientifically to promote pretty skin, so I appreciated that, especially since I found this article about it after a quick search.
This was a fantastic box, with about $78 in products! Everything is super high quality and I never have to read a label for anything in this subscription (except to find out more or to satisfy my curiosity). I love checking out new brands and new kinds of products and Boxwalla brings it every time!
