Birchbox is a beauty sample subscription box with at least 5 new items to test out each month. Birchbox is $10 a month and formerly featured an extensive points/review system that they have removed in favor of 50 points total ($5 in the shop). You can find more about the Birchbox review program changes here.
The information card gives brief details on each item. Remember to go to to Birchbox.com/MyBox to review your samples for points – on your first box.
Everything in the box!
Evologie Intensive Blemish Serum ($23.33) This shockingly expensive zit cream uses tea tree oil and salicylic acid plus willow bark extract reduces inflammation and redness. It’s really more of a serum than a cream and also targets surface scars and hyperpigmentation. For the price and the ingredients, I’d probably just use clearasil? I believe the full size comes in a pump form which makes the price a bit more palatable – quite a bit comes out with a small squeeze of the tube!
ARDENCY INN MODSTER Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliner ($14) This is a basic waterproof eyeliner. I wasn’t super impressed with the line, but it was waterproof and good for when you want a more smudged look but to still have that staying power.
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($5.18) I love this texturizing spray (which is so much more than a dry shampoo!). It makes my hair look really great and I always reach for a can of it when I want to look really good. I tend to hoard my Oribe so I am always psyched to have more!
Laura Geller New York Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator ($11.38) This almost half full size but plenty big. I kind of love this! Sometimes I get frustrated by repeat brands in my Birchbox but there’s a lot to love about Laura Geller’s baked mineral products. This one is SO pretty and luminous. I might work up the courage to do that strobing thing! Birchbox has a tutorial linked from the page for this product.
Benefit gimme brow volumizing fiber gel ($8) Debuting exclusively at Birchbox! This is for the lady who wants bold caterpillar esque brows. Ok ok, my brows need taming and are already quite full, so I’m not so sure this is the product for me.
You brush this waterproof gel right into your brows, and it looks supernatural with little microfiber fake hairs and everything.
This pic is a little out of focusbut when I brushed it on my skin I could even see the microfibers. Love love that illuminator. This was actually a great Birchbox and makes it totally hard to hate on them for removing points, with about $62 in value – probably the highest value box I’ve ever received. And yes, I totally triple-checked the price of that evologie serum. This was ipsy-level value and some really nice brands, so I have to say… fantastic box! The brow gel wasn’t for me but it was fun to try.
