BeautyFIX is a monthly subscription box from Dermstore that sends you the latest skin care, hair care, and makeup products for $24.95 a month (or $34.95 for a one-time purchase). They feature full and travel sized products and promise the box will contain at least $100 worth of items. Everyone receives the same products, although makeup colors may differ, but at least you will know what you are getting if you decide to purchase the box after you see the contents.

Oooh, what will be in this month’s box? I have only tried this sub once before when I won one on Facebook back in August so I was excited to see what I was getting this time! I received free samples with that box but I didn’t receive any this month.

There were giant packing bubbles to keep the items from moving around during shipping.

I was happy to see Keranique since I received some of their products in August and I know they are great for fine hair, which is my biggest beauty concern. There was a tool that I thought at first glance was some sort of toothbrush but I was wrong.
The product information card gave the item name, what it is used for, and a coupon code for a shop purchase.

Keranique Lift & Repair Treatment Spray ($18) I have super fine hair and struggle to find products that won’t weigh it down or leave it stiff and crunchy. This mint-scented spray did what it said it would. My hair felt soft and I had increased volume and no crunchiness. I sprayed it on towel-dried hair and went to check on my tea and noticed that it had a cooling effect on my scalp due to the peppermint oil. This was a great find!

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra-Rich ($37.65) This anti-wrinkle day cream contains sunflower and jojoba oils and shea butter to deeply moisturize dehydrated skin. Gently warm a pea-sized amount in hands before applying. Has fragrance added but it was not too bad but steer clear if you are sensitive.

MDSolarSciences Daily Eye Repair Emulsion ($27.33) The first thing I noticed was that this has the same silky feeling of silicone-based primers which made it glide on easily. This is supposed to offer 24-hour time released moisturization but should still be applied twice a day. I am looking forward to seeing if it helps reduce puffiness and fine lines as it promises.
Laura Geller New York Pout Perfection Waterproof Lip Liner ($18) Subscribers received 1 of 3 colors (I got Cabernet, a pinky mauve; they also sent out Fawn and Buff). This is supposed to help your lipstick last longer and contains jojoba oil and vitamin E. It went on smoothly but some bits of the product flaked off upon application (just like in the picture of the swatch below). Minor but annoying none the less. That’s ok, I still love Laura Geller products so I am happy to have this!

Erno Laszlo Hydraphel Skin Supplement ($4.04) A toner to help lock in moisture and calm irritation. Alcohol free and ideal for most skin types. A little goes a long way and surprisingly my skin felt softer after using.

Laura Geller Lip Liner in Cabernet swatched on my arm. I didn’t care much for the flakes of liner but the color is fine.

Supersmile Professional Whitening System ($4.26) The Supersmile system is comprised of a toothpaste and accelerator that are used together to dissolve a film that covers the teeth and causes discoloration. It contains fluoride but it doesn’t foam up as much as regular toothpaste. Results may be seen in as little as 3 days or up to 4 weeks depending on the person.

LumaRX Detail Trimmer ($19) I don’t think I have ever received a gadget in a subscription box so this was a first for me! The LumaRX is used to trim the hair on your face and can be used by men or women. You can trim your sideburns or eyebrows or wherever you need it most. Includes a comb attachment but I still haven’t figured out how to use that part but I did manage to shave off something that landed in the sink, possibly some hair from my head. I need to practice with this a little since I didn’t think it helped my brows much but it is most likely user error.
There is also a little light that turns on but I don’t know that it illuminated anything for me. Batteries were included with this product so it can be used right away.

Wow, I had a fun time trying out some new (expensive) products and giving my new gadget a whirl. This box contained 7 items and was worth a mind-blowing $128.28! The items were all relevant to me and I especially liked the hair treatment.
