VivTote May 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupons

VivTote is a monthly jewelry and accessories rental subscription box that brings designer fashion accessories right to your door. The subscription costs $21 each month ($29 if you opt for the Handbag rental), and you’ll get stylish jewelry and handbags based on your style profile. You will receive 3-5 pieces on loan each month, plus you can buy the items you love with a special 20% discount.

The style quiz is easy and quick – it doesn’t make you select multiple choices on all of the options –  and you choose occasion, outfit inspirations, what kinds of bags you want to receive, etc.

VIP membership (after your third month) comes with a new bonus item every season.

The information card comes with a welcome note and a list of the items in the box.

This scarf is a gift from VivTote – free with your first month.

The back of the card provides more information on how VivTote subscription works – wear for a month, return, and get a new set within a few days of your return. If you can’t give it up, you can buy the items at a 20% discount.

Chic Blossom Chiffon Scarf ($20) Included in the box is a pretty spring scarf – I think this would work for me tied on a tote!

The rest of the items are neatly packed in a purple tissue paper.

Kate Spade Cedar Street Mini Crossbody ($118) Do I admit here that unlike 10 years ago I don’t really purchase designer purses anymore? This was a real treat to carry, especially as mini crossbody bags are so in right now! I love the idea of getting them on loan (especially since VivTote carries some Minkoff bags too!).

This is a brand new subscription and accordingly – a brand new bag. I’ll have to check up soon and see how the bags fare.  Some things to note about this subscription – there’s a $50 pre-authorization charge before your first box is shipped (and will be returned before it’s shipped). [The box owner contacted me to let me know that this has been removed] If the product is damaged beyond normal wear & tear you get charged for the replacement of the bag.

The cuff and necklace are definitely my style – edgy with the play of cobalt blue, which is always in, especially with a LBD.

I thought this made an unusual but fun set.

I’m excited to see handbags re-enter the subscription space, especially in a low-cost subscription rental service. Since I’m not a fan of cluttering my house with expensive designer goods that don’t get much use, I think this is a fun way to try out new styles and bags without a gigantic investment.
