Toybox Subscription Box Review & Coupon – May 2016

Toybox is a monthly box for kids ages 4-11 and again my boys were all over it since it had Toy on the side and they loved last months box.

First look in the box and the May theme is Adventures in the Rainforest.

The back of the card has information on the rainforest and going on an adventure.

Gymnastic Monkey ($5.59) – I feel like I had something like this as a kid but I must have never gotten one for my boys because they are having fun with this one and acting like they have never seen such a thing.

Talk Back Finger Parakeet ($6.75) – This is the highlight of the box for us. The boys are having a blast making it say potty words over and over again. I’m sure not its intended use but for an 8 and 5 year old it is a hoot.

Mini Wooden Snake ($2.50) – My youngest already ran off with this one and added it to our animal basket.  He is keeping it for an animal day. I’m not sure what that is but its what he told me.

Animal Print Ball with tail ($1.69) – Uhm I’m not even sure what to say about this one. It is called a ball but is not a ball at all it is more like a cat toy which is what I thought it was until I found it online.

While we loved last months box we are not as thrilled with this one.  My boys are having fun with a couple of the items but the not a ball thing wasn’t a hit.  I do love the idea of this box and having things my boys can play with that aren’t plugged in and think it has lots of potential but again the box was short on value this month – the items totaled about $17. I’d love to see this box improve on value, maybe with an extra item and a snack, or a DIY activity.
