Toybox is a monthly box for kids ages 4-11 and to say my boys were chaping at the bit to open this one is an understatement. If a box comes to the house and says Toy on the outside then they are going to be all over it. They were not disappointed either.
While I couldn’t see many of the items in the box I did get to read the note with the box and I was excited. The April theme is the Earth Box and the toys are designed to help refine fine motor skills. I love toys that are educational and also fun.
I love this saying and I’m planning to put this up in the playroom when we get our shelves done.

Solar Fossils ($3.33) – This looks really cute and fun. My 8 year old is all ready to make this but with the rain today we are going to wait for a sunny day to make these. You mold the dinosaur, dry it, and then it changes color in sunlight.
Wooden Toppling Towers ($7.72) – I love these and they are like a mini Jenga game. My boys immediately said they wanted to play Jenga but I’ve made them wait so I could get the pics and post before we somehow lost some pieces. I love the colors and the feel of these blocks. It will be fun to play with them and maybe even to take on vacations with us.
Micro Flight Kite ($5.00) – Again another cool item for outside and its raining today so we didn’t get a chance to take it out. For some reason we are just getting into kites here and this is like a mini version and I think it is so cute.
Earth Squeeze Ball (I couldn’t find the exact one but similar ones go for about $1.00) – Educational and fun this is perfect. My oldest is just starting a geography lesson in school so he was all over this and looking at it. My 5yr old just wanted to squeeze it but he thought it was pretty.
If you couldn’t tell we loved this box. We have started opening everything up and using the ones we can inside and they are liking them. These are the best kind of toys where they can learn something and still have fun with it. This is great and fits both of my boys so they can share the goodies easily. However, the box was short on value – the items totaled about $17. We’d love to see this box improve on value, maybe with an extra item and a snack, or a DIY activity.
