Target periodically sells non-subscription Target Beauty Boxes.  Depending on the contents, they are themed and cost $5-10, and sell out quickly!  May’s boxes were themed spring FLING and have, unfortunately, sold out.  Click here to make sure you don’t miss out on the next one.  Although this isn’t a subscription, Target does own DermStore, and hence, does have a subscription box – BeautyFix! See all our BeautyFix posts here if you’re interested in that subscription.

My first look in my first Target Beauty Box.

Everything in the box – just $10!

Hair Food Kiwi Dry Shampoo ($4.99):  This dry shampoo is free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, and mineral oil.  I love dry shampoo when I straighten my hair.  It helps to absorb excess oil, allowing me to maintain a sleek style for a few days without looking like I have an oil slick on my head.

Andalou Age Defying Night Repair Cream ($5.88):  An all-natural blend of antioxidants that work overnight to stimulate circulation, slow cellular damage, and speed healthy cell renewal for smoother, younger looking skin.  This is aimed at those with dry to very dry skin.

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream ($12.80):  An award winner in the Huffington Post’s Best in Beauty for 2014.  “Optimal Mineral Water restores and retains ideal hydration levels, while nourishing mango butter extract repairs skin’s natural barrier, helping prevent moisture loss. Richly texturized and instantly absorbed, this luxurious cream relieves dryness instantly for the smoothest, most supple skin imaginable.”

L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche La Lacque Lip Pen in 201 lacque-y charm ($8.99):  The pen offers highly pigmented color that glides on effortlessly in one precise stroke.   The color that I received is a dusky rose.  I’ve actually been looking for something in this exact color for those days when I want a fresh-faced, light makeup look.  These pens also come in a matte version.

L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Towelettes ($1.30):  This self-tanning towelette contains enough product for the whole body.  The description says that your tan will be two shades darker than your natural tone.  I wear pants all the time, so my legs are super pale in comparison to my arms.  Let’s see if this takes away some of their pastiness.

Derma e Firming DMAE Moisturizer ($5.00):  Wondering what DMAE is?  I was too.  It’s a compound that helps improve the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin, while improving firmness.  This also contains alpha lipoic acid, C-Ester, jojoba oil, and vitamins A and E.  This moisturizer is very rich, and a little goes a long way.

CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser ($0.48):  CeraVe is one of my go-to cleansers.  It was developed with dermatologists and is a gentle and effective cleanser.  The formula in my box is for normal to oily skin – perfect for me!

Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream ($1.20):  This has lots of bee-derived moisturizing goodies in it – beeswax, honey, propolis, and royal jelly!  Apparently, “pediatricians, naturopaths, dermatologists and plastic surgeons around the world recommend Egyptian Magic’s 100% natural cream to help with eczema, scars, burns and rashes.”

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Oil ($2.67):  I was so excited to try this, but then I saw it was for those with dry or easily irritated skin.  However, curiosity got the best of me.  This did a great job of removing my makeup, even my waterproof eyeliner.  I completely understand why people with dry skin rave over this oil – it is very moisturizing.  I ended up washing with my regular cleanser because I felt like there was a film on my skin.  I will use this as a makeup remover.

Swatch of the lip pen.

So, for $10, I received $43.31 worth of products!  Although it wasn’t the promised $47 value, it is still a great deal.   I love luxury cosmetics as much as the next person, but sometimes they don’t love my wallet.  That’s why the Target Beauty Box is great – full-sized versions of the products are easily accessible and reasonably priced.  With so many fab items to choose from, I don’t know what my favorite is.
