The May 2016 theme is Power. Time to power up!
T, age 17, opened the package up and declared he was unhappy with the May LevelUp Wearable Bundle. Read on to find out why.
PA Anna: The Super Mario Crew Super Star Socks are a Loot Crate Exclusive by Bioworld. They are made out of 98% polyester and 2% spandex. Both boys, ages 7 and 17, love anything about Super Mario Bros. The super star allows Mario to temporary survive anything except for game ending demises. He’s invincible! The first star appeared way back in 1985 in Super Mario Bros which I remember playing as a child.
T (age 17): Mario socks were nice. but it is not winter time anymore. They will not be comfortable to wear in the summer.
PA Anna: The Exclusive Masters of the Universe He-Man Socks by Bioworld is another trip down memory lane. The socks are made from the same fiber content as the Super Mario Socks, 98% polyester and 2% spandex. Sony Pictures may be developing a live action He-Man Master of the Universe. I never saw the live action film released in 1987 although I did watch the animated series that was on from 1983-1985.
T: Masters of the Universe is for people my mom’s age. I don’t know anything about it. The He-Man socks are lighter than the Super Mario Socks.
The exclusive The Lord of the Rings “Preciouss” Long Sleeve Shirt is too hot to wear in May. The material is not soft. T and I liked the designs on the front and the back.
T looks disgruntled because he is HOT wearing this shirt in 70 degrees weather. He is wearing a size medium which does not fit properly.
The sleeves are too long and end with a knit cuff. He hates it.
I did not adjust the shirt because this is how it would normally look from the back. It’s too big for him and much too warm for May.
T: Ugh. That is the most uncomfortable shirt I ever worn. It was itchy and scratchy. It was tight on the wrists. Too much sleeve. Too hot. It’s a long sleeve black shirt, and it is almost June!
Both T and I try not to judge geek/gamer boxes solely on fandoms because opinions can differ on fandoms. However, we can’t ignore that the clothing is inappropriate for the end of May’s weather. He was miserable posting for the pictures in 70-degree weather because the shirt was hot especially with the knit cuffs. It was also scratchy. He voted it worst shirt ever even though he loved the design. The Super Mario socks are a heavier sock material more appropriate for the winter time. The He-Man socks are fine for this time of the year although he doesn’t care for the fandom. This month is the first time T has experienced any issue with a Loot Crate shirt since subscribing on and off since 2014. We hope it is an anomaly and that Loot Crate will be back on track next month. June Level Up spoilers should be announced shortly!

Im signed up for the wearable but I always use a prepaid card and after seeing the spoiler they emailed me I made sure the payment would not go through I was surprised they would send out a long sleeve shirt but I thought hey some people up north are still dealing with some chilly weather but there was no way Im dealing with Texas heat in that lol
oh no. This was a really random box. I don’t keep a list but do they often send out long sleeve shirts? I feel like most of them are short sleeve and why would you ever send a long sleeve in May? The socks aren’t as big a deal for me as my 8 year old wears heavy knee or over knee socks with his shorts year round so even now that its almost 90deg in NC he wears the heaviest socks. (That is not a battle I’m fighting as I’m just glad he is wearing socks LOL) I keep hearing about a new Masters movie or show but I don’t think it gets very far into development unfortunately. My brothers and I watched the show and I have seen the movie. LOL
