Everything in my bag for May!

Clark’s Botanicals Smoothing Marine Cream ($34.31) Yes that is FOR REAL.  This is $115 for the full size, so it’s a wow item for ipsy! Clark’s is plant oil-based formula with exfoliating natural acids and algae extracts and I think I’m going to stick with using this on my forehead, which needs some acid-based action. I’m going to be very judicious in its use because it’s so pricey!

SOO AE Masks: These were hard for me to find online – not surprising! I found SOO AE on Birchbox, but not these masks, but eventually I found them all at Target! They are $3 each!

Smooth Radiance – Brightening – Collagen Essence Mask – Packed with ingredients to correct hyper pigmentation and brighten skin, while improving overall skin tone.

Firming & Elasticity – Collagen – Essence Mask – Helps to restore and improve overall elasticity and firmness.

Lifting & Radiance – Propolis – Collagen Essence Mask – Improves skin’s elasticity and radiance with honey extract, known to fight the harmful effects of environmental stressors.

The masks themselves are made from the Eucalyptus plant and I am sure they are all fantastic, but of course I haven’t tried them all out yet but I went for the Brightening mask. It was nice and thick and easy to unfold and even had a textured pattern on it! Along with my current foot treatment, I’m going to be the smoothest.

My husband just walked in the room and walked back out.ipsy may 2016 IMG_0271 ipsy may 2016 IMG_0272

INSPYR 282 Eye Fluff Brush ($12) Here’s what the website says about this brush:

The eye fluff brush is a must-have for adding strong color on the lid, all over blending, and anything in-between. Use the eye flush brush to apply your luxury beauty products over large surface areas to blend out harsh lines and add definition to the eye.

I tried it out and I thought it was a good every day brush – but not to lay down serious pigment. It’s an excellent blender and to swipe on low key looks, but not if you want “strong color.” Despite that, it’s a nice quality brush!

Pacrifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow Trio in Skinny Dip, Crush, and Lovely ($6.99) This is actually a sample size but there’s plenty to use. The first two times I received a Pacifica shadow in my Ipsy bag I hated it. Then I got an actual Pacifica palette in a PSMH box and loved it. Then I realized that Pacifica was producing non-retail versions for the bag, which is terrible if the quality isn’t there (like that gross Pacifica lip product in February I think). ipsy may 2016 IMG_0278

However, it turned out that I was DELIGHTED by the performance of this shadow – and the colors. I’m really happy with this!

Smashbox X-Rated Mascara ($7.33) I tested this out tonight against another mascara and Smashbox was the clear winner (it wasn’t really fair, because the other one was Revlon). It produced well defined lashes with LOTS of volume. Super happy with this one! Seemed to me to be a soft black instead of blackest black.

My ipsy bag was great this month – super usable, fun, cute pouch, and $70 in value! Tell me what you got in your bag in the comments!!

I loved your review especially since we only got one thing alike (the mascara, which I liked a lot too). I’m most curious to hear how that skin cream works out though I have never paid that much for skin cream and wouldn’t unless it is a true fountain of youth. 😉 Hee! I like the purple bag! I wanted the pink one and got the blue. I’m using it to keep a double deck of card games to play with my fam! 🙂 Oh you made me laugh-your husband walked out when he saw you in the mask. I’m going to put on a mask at bedtime to give mine a laugh.

I too disliked the Pacifica lip product a few months ago. I was so sure I was getting the purple bag and I got blue instead 🙁 Congrats on the Clark’s Botanicals Smoothing Marine Cream ($34.31)!!! Lucky You!

I cancel Ipsy and keep going back lol. I’m glad I did because this Month’s bag was better than usual.I received the face masks, which are actually for my skin type! The Hikari bronzer is pretty but I don’t use bronzer. The eye brush and the Smashbox mascara. I hate this mascara! This is my third sample and it still doesn’t work for me. The minute I sweat it runs and clumps. By the end of the day I looked like I had two black eyes lol. The bag, though, is adorable; I love it in the blue I received.

The only thing in my bag that matches yours this month is the Smashbox mascara. Even my bag is different – it’s blue. I also got a Hikari Shimmer Bronzer that has 2 shiny colors and 2 not so shiny ones, a Vera Mona Eye Smudger Brush, a Bellapierre nude lip pencil (despite repeated reviews telling them I don’t like nude lip things) and some Hungry Hair Oil Treatment (again, despite repeated reviews that I don’t need or want hair gunk). It’s a cute little bag, though. And I got another 5 reward points things – Amie Morning Clear Facial Wash, 28 Remedy Balancing Toner, an Inkling Scents roll-on oil fragrance called Unity that’s supposed to be citrusy, and 2 em makeup mood enhancers in pink flush and dewy skin. Things to play with.

Hi, so how does your bag look like?

Looks just like Brandy’s, only it’s blue & white instead of purple & white.

Oversubscribed because I really liked that Em palette and I have kind of missed the little makeup bags, my granddaughters love them and they are great for travel and small gifts. I got the blue bag (love it) and am happy about the pallette and got a nice bottle of illuminator by Em with my points. But then I get to why I cancelled before. I never seem to get the better items I see reviewed. I would have loved the masks and the cream looks worth trying, but I got hair oil, which is the last thing my short curly hair needs and a black eye liner and the hakari blush/ bronzer. With the gold which I just don’t care for. The whale print brush is cute and the lip balm is nice but I feel like I will never get some of the preferred items. I will give it a bit and see how it goes, after all there are the bags.

Should have said resubscribed. Darn autocorrect! LOL

Janelle, do you review your items each month and then rate them with stars? I found my bags so ho-hum for at least 6 months and kept changing my profile to make it more specific. I finally have gotten to wear my bags are usually a 4/5 each month and sometimes I love everything. I think that’s pretty good considering how picky I am about certain things. I still got the hair oil too, but that might be because I rated the more pure hair oils high. I love the pure hair oils but not the ones with silicones and chemicals on my frizzy hair! I hope you get it to wear you are getting what you want.
