We have full spoilers for the GlobeIn May 2016 Benefit Basket. The theme is Hydrate!

We are thrilled to share that we have partnered with Water.org, a nonprofit that pioneers safe water and sanitation solutions around the world for our May Artisan Box.

On this blue planet, water is the ultimate elixir. Everything is better that’s hydrated—your body, your mood, your pets, your plants. This month’s kit offers your hydration efforts both practicality and pizazz.

Of course, water is no luxury—it’s a basic human right. So it seemed appropriate to partner up this month with Water.org, an organization working to bring safe water to all 663 million people around the world who currently lack it. This month, your drink is also someone else’s.

Each Benefit Basket will come with:

1) Shibori Scarf by Matr Boomie, India (Retail $25).
All scarves will come in blue tie dye design.

2) GlobeIn Signature Palm Leaf Basket from Oaxaca, Mexico (Retail $12).
Basket designs and colors may vary (i.e. round and square).

Your scarf was created using a traditional Japanese method known as Shibori, a process of dyeing cloth in which stitching, binding, folding, and compressing are used to create the desired geometric and tie-dye patterns. The intricacies of this demanding craft have been passed down through many generations to the women whose hands expertly crafted your new piece.

Your scarf’s soft and lightweight cotton, along with its large long shape make it endlessly versatile and appropriate year-round. Wrap around the neck, or use as a shawl or over-the-shoulder throw. Change it up throughout the day! Hand wash only.

Measurements: 62″ L x 21″ W

About the Artisans

In western Rajasthan, India, economic opportunity is scarce. Most residents of this dry desert region rely on crafts, tourism, and mining for their livelihoods. The small group of Muslim women responsible for making your scarf inherited knowledge of its Shibori technique from their mothers and grandmothers.

While they continue the work of past generations, the current generation’s fair trade partnership with Matr Boomie connects them with international markets, setting forth exciting new prospects for economic stability and the future of both their families and their art.
