BeautyFIX May 2016 Subscription Box Review

BeautyFIX is a monthly beauty subscription box from DermStore. This subscription has changed quite a bit – in 2015 it changed its name from Blush Mystery Beauty Box, and now features more sample size than full-size items (but is still an amazing deal – it’s only $24.95!).

The information card has details on each item, along with pictures, and you often get a freebie sample in your box.

Everything in the May box! FYI, you can purchase this box through the end of the month and sometimes even a little longer.

Doctor BaborDerma Cellular Collagen Booster Cream ($45.56) Ooooh this is a spendy one! This cream plumps with hyaluronic acid and resurfaces with AHAs, which do great on my skin. I will use every bit of it, but there’s no chance I’m buying the full size. That’s why I love my boxes – so many goodies so inexpensively!

Avene Mineral Ultra-light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+ ($17.70) This is a pretty exciting product because it’s a 100% mineral sunscreen that’s ultra light, SPF 50, water resistant, and doesn’t leave a white residue. Total win!

La Roche-PosayAnthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid ($1.34) Another sunscreen sample to try – this one is also ultra-light and 60 SPF, but contains chemical sunscreens, which I’m sensitive to, so I won’t use it on my face. It’s waterproof and fragrance free.

glotherapeutics Vital Eye Cream ($35) Easily my favorite item in the box – it’s ultra hydrating and nourishing. When I squeezed out my first try it was a bit oily (I think they included as much vit E and primrose oil as the cream could handle) but it really kept my eye area hydrated for 24 hours, and it was perfection.

Replenix Pure Hydration Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($13.67) Plain hyaluronic acid can get added to just about anything for extra plumping power (it draws moisture into your skin). This is great when you have a favorite serum or moisturizer that you’d like to be a little more hydrating but isn’t really doing the job for that purpose – or you can just use it straight up.

SkinMedica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator ($6.50) This is really sort of crazy expensive but interesting – it contains five types of Hyaluronic Acid. I found it hydrating, but maybe not $110 full-size hydrating?

beautyblender Micro Mini With Sample-Sized Cleanser (about $10) Micro Minis are so much fun. This one came with a sample size of blender cleanser in a foil packet, but most importantly – contouring and highlighting tips. It’s really perfect for the inner eye and nose area and any sort of more precise application that a beautyblender can’t handle (there are times right? like very occasionally?! seriously I love ALL beautyblenders!).

As always, BeautyFix is perfect for someone serious about skincare – and they were serious about the value this month, around $130! It’s also one of the best boxes from the past few months – I didn’t have issues with any of the products and they were to a one products that I will use entirely (ok, I could skip the chemical sunscreen, but the value was miniscule compared to the rest of the box). BeautyFix is so fantastic for skincare lovers!
