The Tie Fix Subscription Box Review & Coupon – April 2016

The Tie Fix is a monthly subscription box for ties and mens’ accessories.  New from Skinny Tie Madness – a brand that most subscription box junkies will recognize!  For $14.99 a month, you receive 2 ties and 2 accessories, hand-selected by the company’s founders.

This month’s box arrived with its contents attractively and compactly packaged.  The box itself looks a little Fifty Shades, so this might not be a subscription you want to receive at work.  Inside the box, things are decidedly un-naughty:

The skinny tie from Skinny Tie Madness ($29.99) is 100% cotton, in a gray-blue crosshatch pattern.  This tie would look great with jeans or dark pants.  It has a nice weight to it and feels like good quality for the price.

The second tie, a regular-width tie from Knot Society ($49.99), is a 100% chambray with a white diagonal stripe.  This tie makes a nice sharp crease and would look great with khakis or black jeans.  This would be a great spring tie for semi-casual church, work, or society outings.  It will tone down the formality of a blazer but still look pulled together.

The two accessories to complement the ties were fun.  Who doesn’t like a loud sock?  Even the buttoned-up corporate types can get away with a little sock flair. From Filthy Etiquette ($9.99)

The last item is listed as a bracelet from Something Strong ($29.99) but could work as a necklace, too.  Probably cooler as a bracelet, double-wrapped.  It’s a black braided rope with a tied closure.  It’ll add a little edge to your outfit in a “I picked this up when I was surfing in Malibu” way.

Overall, this is a fun box for men who like to look pulled together and on trend even when they’re not at work.  The quality of the items is good for the $14.99 price (which may indicate a bit of price inflation on the MSRPs – but these companies do actually sell the ties at these prices ).  It would be a great gift for a boyfriend or college grad.
