For review purposes Squix included an add-on item, which is the first item below.

Our add-on item was MIST Screen Cleanin’ Mist from AM Labs ($12.99).  It’s specially designed to be safe for all manner of electronic device surfaces, including screens, keyboards, even touch screens.

Full instructions were included.  We tried it out on our iPhone, and we we were so pleased with the effectiveness that we are keeping our bottle of mist at our review station for camera cleaning.

The spray comes in a hard plastic sleeve to protect it while it jostles around in your laptop bag or purse.  While I’ve seen many products that come with a microfiber cloth for wiping surfaces, this is the first I’ve seen where the spray bottle has a built in microfiber surface!

Here’s everything in the subscription part of my box!

The bottles arrived taped where they screw together to prevent leaks and similar disasters in transit.

The tape came free cleanly, without leaving a sticky residue.  squix april 2016 IMG_8676

Milstein’s Pure All Surface Cleaner & Disinfectant ($6.49):  Made in Colorado, this is a cleaner safe for use on eating and baby-proximate surfaces.  Made chiefly from organic vinegar and organic surfactants, every ingredient is food grade and plant-based.  Real essential oils are used to give it its great scent.  Available in pure unscented, as well as lemon, lavender, orange, rosemary, and peppermint.

Eat Cleaner Fruit & Vegetable Wash ($6.49):  This great spray is the better way to clean your produce.  It’s combination of odorless and tasteless fruit acids and antioxidants is 99% more effective than water alone in removing wax, pesticides, dirt, and other residue from the surface of produce.  It also inhibits browning of cut produce and can even extend the life of your fresh fruit an vegetables up to 200% longer.  This is a step above similar products that offer cleaning and anti-browning properties, but also bring a very tart, acidic coating (e.g., citric acid) – this cleaner has all the benefits without distorting the flavor of your produce.  I love this stuff, because the fruit the kids love most, grapes and berries, are also the most susceptible to pesticides and too delicate to scrub.

e-cloth General Purpose Cloth ($7.99):  This cloth is so cool, because it lets you remove 99% of bacteria and completely clean and polish your home without using any chemicals or other cleansers.

The secret is in the incredibly fine gauge of the fibers — each one is 1/200th the size of a human hair, the smallest fiber produced by man.  With as many as 3.1 million fiber strands per square inch of cloth, the e-cloth easily entangles and cuts away tiny particles of dirt and grime.

We tested the e-cloth on the front and back of an iPad.  The kids use this, so it was fiiilllthy.  It was absolutely amazing how squeaky clean it was afterwards without using any solvents – only a bit of water on the cloth itself.

If you look on the upper left photo you’ll see the cleaning “halo” – we haven’t actually been able to get the iPad clean. The cloth was super impressive!

Along with your three items, the box includes a bottle of hand sanitizer and a $5 card good toward your next Squix order, and you can add on products to your order as well.

I feel silly getting so giddy about a cleaning product subscription, especially since I’m not overly cleanliness obsessed (though I am an admitted germaphobe), but this box was actually lots of fun to review, because the products are so incredible.  An amazing cleaner made from organic food-grade products, an odorless and tasteless fruit wash that also extends the life of your food, and a cloth made of fibers so fine that it literally cuts away bacteria, sanitizing surfaces without any chemicals — it’ like stepping into Q’s lab.  Come to think of it, it is called the Squix “Q” Box…

The total value of the box was $20.97, plus the sanitizer and the gift card. You can customize your box so values will depend on your choices, but we were happy with it matching the total monthly subscription price because of the cool new (and effective) cleaning products we found.

Customer service for this box is a nightmare. They are only open M-F during work hours and you have to call, nothing can be done via the website. Received a rude email from them when I asked a question about cancellation. Do not order this box.
