The Pumpkin Batch is a monthly subscription box for pumpkin lovers – every month you’ll receive 4-6 products for pumpkin and pumpkin spice lovers – all year round! Products are sourced from small businesses all across the US!
The theme for April is Pumpkin for Renewal!
The information card has complete details on each item, including the value, the maker, and the ingredients or other necessary information.
The back of the information book had a note from the curator – a planting guide for the pumpkin seeds in the box!
The items inside are secured with straw-like squiggles.
Everything in the April box!
I’m so excited to get pumpkin seeds! According to the included planting instructions it’s still a tad early to start planting these. Our house is on top of a hill and last year we planted squash in the annual flower beds in front, but it turned out they weren’t vining. I’m planting these there – it’s a full-sun area and they make a delightful pumpkin patch in my front yard!
Sustainable Seed Co. Organic Heirloom Jarrahdale Pumpkin Seeds ($2.49)
“A New Zealand heirloom, Jarrahdale pumpkin has a slate blue, ribbed exterior and a deep delicious orange interior flesh.”
Sustainable Seed Co. Organic Heirloom Cinderella Pumpkin Seeds ($2.49)
“Cinderella pumpkin is an heirloom variety from France that was selected out of the older variety, Rouge vif d’Etampes.”
These two will look beautiful together!
Both are organic and heirloom varieties and good for pies, breads, and canning.
Maggie and Mary’s Creamy Pumpkin Soup ($8) There’s always some sort of edible in this box – this month is soup! It’s totally welcomed during this turn of nasty weather and sounds totally yum.
This soup only needs water, which is great. The information card clearly notes that it contains milk, soy, and gluten.
Megan’s Soap Box Pumpkin & Oatmeal Face Mask ($5) I absolutely love pumpkin face masks – pumpkin is full of natural softening and anti-aging enzymes.
This mask also contains oatmeal which will help absorb some oil.
Alas, even though it looks that way, it’s not edible! It’s for your face! But it does have some pumpkin pie spices in it, so it’s a great sensory experience.
Primitives by Kathy “Grow” Ornament ($5) Note that this item is $1.84 on the linked page – that’s a wholesale price. This is a cute little sign to add to your decor and will look great in a kitchen – or maybe even in the kids’ space!
Copper & Kraft Candles White Pumpkin & Lilac Candle ($8) I’ve received candles from this maker in other boxes and they’re always fantastic. This candle was produced exclusively for The Pumpkin Batch! The curator notes that she wanted “a candle that whispered renewal” and this is definitely that – it’s so unique, combining floral lilac with cinnamon sugar, coriander, and pumpkin!
This was a lovely box! The value was about $31, which is right what I expect with this subscription. I’m really excited to plant my seeds within the next month (too early for me, but just in time for many other parts of the country) and enjoy my pumpkin goodies!
