Pooch Perks Dog April 2016 Subscription Box Review & Coupons

Pooch Perks ships a selection of gourmet dog treats and hand-selected toys to your favorite pup.  You can select one of four box size options, ranging from the Pennywise Pooch at $20 (2-3 items) to the Pampered Pooch at $50 (6 items).  This is the Popular Pooch, the $29 box.

Though the contents are for your pooch, they still take care to make it presentable and enjoyable for you to open, too!

The information card immediately welcomes you upon unboxing. According to the card, Pooch Perks donates $1 from every subscription box to Ralph’s Place, a pet rescue charity.

Your Pet Chef No Guilt Treats ($6.75):  The My Heart Beets for You recipe is made from just chicken, beets, apples, and kale.  Our pup loves these — and we have been surprised at how much she enjoyed previous recipes that sounded even more vegetable-heavy.  Made in the USA from natural ingredients, these gluten and grain free treats are tasty and healthful.

Lucky Dog Peanut Butter & Berries Treats ($2.25):  These all natural treats combine the dog-friendly flavor of peanut butter with fiber and vitamin rich berries.  They are baked into adorable little hearts, too!

ZippyPaws Squeakie Emojiz Heart Eyes ($6.99):  It was only a matter of time — but the ubiquity of the smiley face has now spread to the entire emoji universe.  This plush squeaker conveys what your dog feels every time you come home.

Multipet Lamb Chop Plush Dog Toy ($4.99):  Shari Lewis’ precocious lamb can now keep your dog company.  This plush resembles the puppet closely and is nice and soft.

Wet Noses Agave & Pear Treats ($0.96):  These wheat free treats are sweetened with agave and pear.  We love that there are so many all natural treats now available for dogs, but this is the first we’ve seen this particular combo.  Lindy seemed to love them!

This box is a little expensive relative to the individual value of the contents (the retail value of the items is $21.94).  The appeal of this subscription lay with the all-natural treats and convenience rather than price.  I like that the treats are all natural and appear to be USA manufactured, which is important — we may put all kinds of junk in our own bodies, but American companies know we don’t mess around with our pet’s food! Still, we’d like to see the value of this box improve to meet the cost.
